Studyinghard is describing the VCAA timetable for 3/4 subjects. Legal studies was a day before Chemistry. http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/exams/timetable.html

Oh right. Has it always been like that... the Chemistry exam being the day after Legal?..

I suppose my exams next year would be pretty close together. In that case, I get what you mean.

its the dilenma I had this year. During the whole year my sacs for legal were like top 3 in the cohort and then I had to pick between chem and legal being in my top 4 as I wasnt going for a 99.xx enter score it didnt make much of a difference if I got 30 in legal or 40 how ever you obviously have aims for a 99+ so it might make a difference.

I picked chem because I got a decent mark (mid A) for my mid years. I know it might not seem that much of  a difference now but during that exam period, it gets tiring and remembering all that knowledge for legal can be a bitch.

Cheers for the advice. It's bad timing on VCAA's part, but what can you do.

I hoping that my exams next year aren't bunched so close together.

Good Luck Studyinghard, hope you get into the course you want. =)

And another question...

How much are Unit 3 and 4 SACs worth in Legal Studies? and the exam itself?.. as a percentage?

From my knowledge the exam is worth 50% of the study score and the unit 3/4 Sacs are also worth 50%. (25% each obviously).

There is a lot to remember in legal studies, but if you study consistently throughout the year as your SACs approach, it will all just come back to you at the end of the year. I personally didn't find it very hard remember information. The real trick in legal studies is to understand what the questions are asking you to do. For example, evaluate wants strengths and weaknesses.

I got tripped up in a SAC because the question asked me to 'critically evaluate two strengths'. I saw the word strengths and wrote only on those and forgot about the evaluate part. So that's the real trick, me thinks.
