Messaged, but it appears you have disappeared from VN :(

Speaking of trial exams, azn_dj and I are in the midst of producing an exam or diagnostic test for students who have just completed 1/2 :) It will mainly be based on the fundamentals of 1/2 Methods which are a must for going on to understanding 3/4 methods. Additionally, it will allow us to know where you're at so we can adjust teaching styles to your requirements :)

Just wondering if you'll split that into Unit 1 and 2 so I can use it as exam preparation in 2011.

Just wondering if you'll split that into Unit 1 and 2 so I can use it as exam preparation in 2011.

The main intention of writing the exam is to get an idea of where students are at the end of year 11, so that we have an idea of where to work on for year 12, so I don't think it will be an ideal Unit 1/2 resource, as some things from 1/2 may be omitted. That said, I think the MHS Trial exams for 1/2 are second to none (you should be able to get a hold of them soonish). If you complete all of them, I think you will be sufficiently prepared for 1/2.

We may create something for the transition from year 10 math to 1/2 methods, with a similar idea in mind :) But at this stage I only have 1 student doing that, and it doesn't look like I'll get any more year 10s, so creating a 1/2 => 3/4 exam is the priority.

Yeah it may take a while to come out though because I will be in Tokyo for quite a bit.
I'm hoping before Christmas though.

Please note, I'm offering tutoring too!
Taiga's based in Glen Waverley, I'm based in Caulfield.
If you're near the city, I can tutor you. If you're near the Glen Waverley line (or anywhere along Springvale road I will assume), Taiga can tutor you.

^Endorsed as a tutor.

I've attached a preparatory paper for 3/4 methods, it's for anyone doing it next year, so give it a try and tell me what you think. I plan on writing more during the year  It's not made to be hard or challenging, it's just testing some of the components of the 1/2 course, which may be important to know for 3/4.
