Just hope he's better at Chem/Methods than he is at Super Mario Brothers...

Rembmer boys, Taiga isn't just a good tutor, he's also good at other stuff.

Like dying at Mario brothers power rangers every SNES game.

Okay I'm pretty much done for regular students, thanks for all the interest. I may take 1 more if its at a really suitable location but otherwise full.

Otherwise, I'm still available for crash courses until late February, and I can give irregular tuition (once every few weeks, when you have questions, upcoming sacs, or need something explained).

The free tuition offer stands till late February as well, as long as you're honest that you need it.

If you want a tutor, look no further. Taiga is the way to go.
I had my first lesson with him and it was great. He communicated very well and explained topics with great clarity and detail.
He is very laid back and he teaches you want you want to be taught and he teaches it well.
In one lesson I learned what i would normally learn in a month or two of schooling. Not only does he help you during the tutoring sessions but outside of the sessions he gives you work to complete and he gives you advice and he can help you with whatever you need. Be it Maths,Chemistry or English.

Definitely recommended. Taiga knows what he's doing.

Thanks for that :)

I've updated my availability. I'm taking in students for quick preparation courses until late February, as for Regular classes, given that I am relatively full, I can only accept them case by case. I'm also fine if students only want irregular tuition (coming in only when they have problems in their self study).

I've finished with the free sessions, only one person contacted me for it though, but it was successful given I did it in subjects I normally wouldn't tutor (used lynt.br and Shinny's notes with permission).

ive seen this guy all over the maths boards and he definitely knows his stuff. from the complexity (and sometimes retardness) of probability to the challenging calculus topics, taiga will definitely make your understanding much more crisp.

Thanks swoop :)

I'm no longer taking any lessons at City/State library, as the day a week I plan to spend there is now booked out :( I'm still open to taking maybe 1, perhaps 2  more students at Monash uni Library (Starting late Feb), or Glen Waverley/Wheelers Hill starting from next week. Sorry to others, if you like I can point you towards some tutors who would definitely be good.

An excellent person, and (if it's possible) an even better tutor! I couldn't think of anyone else that manages to be as laidback and friendly as Taiga while being mega smart and an awesome tutor! Heavily endorsed.

Tutoring for Charity?
« Reply #58 on: June 09, 2011, 12:35:36 am »
Hiya guys.

If anyone is needing help with catching up on the course for methods over these holidays (unit 1 or 3 depending on whatever you're doing), or if you just need a headstart, I'm going to have a bit of extra time from June 20 to early August to do so.

Rather than paying me, given I would only be helping you out temporarily, if you could donate some money (hopefully 10-30$/hour, whatever you can afford) to a friend who is running from Melbourne to Sydney for Cancer research fundraising that would be great! His father passed away in the last couple of weeks from Bowel Cancer, so in his honor he is doing this run to raise money for research to prevent such deaths. All the money is going to research, the bloke who is doing the run, nor myself are taking any money out of it.

These sessions would probably just run for around 3 hours, because I have found that is about how long it has taken for me to get most unmotivated students up to speed.

His video is here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOmamSnA2o8&feature=channel_video_title
There is also information on how to donate in the info!

I've been doing this with quite a few people in the last week or so who have pretty much done no study over the last 6 months xD, so I figure there might be quite a few people in the same boat.

Also trialing Skype tutoring with voice explanations and diagrams on my Tablet PC. Not going to charge for it for the next month or so, mainly because I don't know if it's as beneficial, but if anyone actually needs help (if you're miles ahead of the course and just want answers to questions, stick to the Methods boards) I'm happy to do so for free till the end of my uni holidays. There's no obligation to continue for any paid service or anything, genuinely just want to get this tried out, + if you could review my performance on it at some stage during that would be ideal so I can post it here/try and improve it.
