Physics for GAMSAT?

Which physics should someone take not having done vce physics to prep for gamsat?

Either Study a Year 12 Physics Text book. OR if your talking about in terms of subject selection at UniMelb for Science you'd complete Physics 1 Fundamentals and that pretty much covers most of the Physics material you need for the gamsat from my understanding (i'm studying for it now !!). You could then proceed to do Physics 2: Life Sciences (i think its called that or something similar) to fortify your physics knowledge even further (but i didn't xD cz i found uni physics even FUNDAMENTALS extremely fast paced, boring and difficult).

Yeh, of course you can. There are people out there doing an Arts degree with absolutely no Science background whats so ever and manage to do well. So i guess not learning physics in uni would be fine, however it would be an advantage to be ahead. =D

no i expected it, because i felt like a total losty but like, considering it brought down my average abit. Not that happy looking back at it

Don't think so. I know mechanics and dynamics are covered in engineering cz i have a couple of friends in Bachelor of Engineering, but i think Engineering Physics is too narrow of a scope for what is required of the gamsat. But i mean, that's not to say you can't get up to speed with the other parts of physics. Take note guys that Physics is only worth 20% of the marks for Section 3 compared to Bio and Chem both 40%. So Physics is quite "Low-ly" weighted

Gamsat is on the 26th of March but no point of you doing it because firstly, you don't have the 1st year biology and chemistry background to tackle the science section and also, no matter what you get. it won't count because theres a 2 year expiry and u still have 3 years to complete your course. It's not a matter of whether its worth it, its more if you have a passion for one of the health sciences its just one of the hurdles that you have to go through to get there. I am absolutely petrified of physics as you can see from my mark, however, there are prep courses that you can do, and you will find that as you progress through uni and as you mature (more. LOL maybe?) its gonna be alot easier to grasp concepts that you may find hard to tackle right now.

The physics that's actually on the GAMSAT has a nasty way of being not year 12 level at all. There was some ridiculous question on this years paper that was definitely beyond that.

But as said, any of the basic physics subjects is fine (don't worry about this stuff until mid february when subject selection is important)
