I wonder if I have to do accelerated maths too then, cause I got over 30 in spesh and over 38 in methods.

Surely it is a mistake!

They want methods kids to do linear algebra?

People do call the handbook their bible so...maybe the handbook is more credible?

I don't even know what I'm meant to do.
There is what I could do, ie, pretend I never even did methods.
And what I should do, ie, something that requires effort.

Do you think they'll catch onto us school leavers if we enrol in a subject we're not supposed to? I want to do calc I and physics for biomed, but I did vce spesh and physics.

Apparently when uni starts, they'll put up a list of student numbers of people who shouldn't be doing that subject and advise them to change before forcing them to change in the end anyway.

Oh, that sux :(

Too bad I used up my 'hey I finally got a job' news like six hours ago.

Edit: maybe 'hey I crashed a into a car BUT CAN PAY FOR IT WITH MY NEW JOB'.

If you only did methods, you do Calc1. If you did methods + spec. you do Calc2. If you did really well in Spec. you do Linear Algebra or Accelerated Maths.

Don't both trying to con the uni, they have all your details. You can plead your case but the coordinator will inevitably see it as you trying to get out of doing a harder subject so you need a really good reason.

I called UoM, and they said they generally don't let people do maths/physics subjects outside of the guidelines that they've set, but you can ask on AAD, and they may let you.
Also, as per the email we received today, they say that we should pick our subjects before AAD. The girl on the phone said we can change them before the 31st if we want though.

I also called them, and they are going to call me back regarding this whole maths confusion.

More importantly, where can I find the settings for email clients so I can get my UniMelb email in Outlook?  I cannot stand to use the online email.

Edit: Don't worry, found it. :)

Outlook never worked with me for the uni email, if the same thing happens to you either: forward your mail to a gmail address or use your google apps address. I'm currently using google apps through outlook and it works fine

I managed to get out of doing Accelerated Math 1 after a whole lot of hassle, but I think it would be harder to get out of Calc II as Calc I pretty much repeats Specialist Math.

Hey for all the maths subjects we can only use a scientific calculator right? If that's the case then I probably won't mind it so much - I really hated using a CAS caluator..
