There's not much difference between the two, they're both 3 essays

How do people rate Music Psychology? From a search apparently it's easy, but is that still true for an poor essay writer / humanities person & not extremely musical?
&if anyone knows, what sort of specialisation is the essay (60% o-o) on? And are the weekly quiz's easy/what are they?

Anyone doing Japanese 1A?

I couldn't find the level 1 version: JAPN10001

Instead I had to enrol into JAPN20015 Japanese 1A ...and it is giving me the creeps because that's a level 2 subject...

Does anyone else have this problem? Wait; is it even a problem?? I don't think I can ask the commerce student centre because I am overseas at the moment. If the timetables for JAPN10001 and JAPN20015 are different... :buck2:

Thanks

Music Psych is not the sort of subject you should do unless you're interested in the content.

Don't know about the essay but the weekly quizzes aren't that hard (weekly quizzes are never hard)

I don't *think* it makes a difference. It's just so that people can start languages as breadth later, without having to worry about going over the level 1 subject limit I think...

They're the same class. They just have different codes so you can count it as anywhere from 1st to 3rd year for administrative purposes.

it sounds interesting! just wouldn't want to do it if i couldn't do well.
i may switch into it if i hate physics.

They are the same classes but faculties may not allow you to do the Level 2 subject without doing Level 1 first. So it's best to check before enrolling.

Im planning to keep mechanical systems and physics major open till the end of the second year..That requires me to drop breadth for year 2 and do it in year 3..so basically 2 breadth in year 1 and 2 breadth in year 2...Anyone recomment any good breadth subjects to compllement an engineering degree?? i was considering the management track?..but it begins at level 2 so is it possible for me to do those level 2 subjects in level one?

You only need 'Mechanical Systems' and 'Engineering Mathematics' at level 2 to keep mechanical engineering open. I don't know about physics, but you should only need to do two or three subjects at level 2 for that as well. You sure you can't do 2 breadth in second year?

Yes you can do level 2 management as breadth in first year so long as you've done the prerequisites. I'm an engineering student and I'm doing management for my breadth. Didn't do any last year, but I'm doing Organisational Behaviour as my first, which is a level 2 subject which doesn't have any prerequisites.

Other breadth to consider is a language. I'd recommend a language, personally. Invaluable skill to have, despite how hard it is.

Yes but i might want to do mechatronics so i have to also do foundation of electrical netwroks and enginering computation...Hmm im not sure about management  the 6 hour a week of self study thing put me off alittle..

Ignore everything they say about self study. When they say 6 hours of self study per week they mean 'as much as you can possibly fit into one week of swotvac taking into account your other 3 subjects.'

FoEN is good. I just had my exam for it a few hours ago. Fuck mechatronics right off. Mechatronics and aerospace are the bullshit disciplines of eng with no jobs but sound extra spethial when you're in vce. If you're interested in that sort of thing, do both electrical (FoEN) and mechanical (eng mech) then pick the one you like best for third year.

Eng comp is also a good subject to compliment your major. If you're interested in electrical, your best bet is to major in electrical systems and do a bunch of software systems subjects along side it (i.e. eng comp, programming the machine and algorithms). You'll put yourself in a much better position by taking mech (eng mech), elec (FoEN) and software (eng comp) in second year than you would if you took physics.

Its all so confusing :( i really want to study astrophysics quantum mechanics and that sortah stuff  so thats why i plan to keep that physics major open..so mechanical and electrical are the engineering ones id like to keep open..for the first year i dont think thatll be a problem but for the 2nd year i donno.
