If you got 48 then you won't have any problems. The extra stuff is predominantly rote, like taxonomic categories and a disgraceful amount of porifera/nematode/etc. names to learn

If you want to do some ochem, I hated McMurry and Zumdahl (although other people love them) and used Schaum's Outlines, which was really good. I've also heard good things about organic chemistry as a second language, if you can track it down.

Just learn stereochemistry perfectly and the mechanisms of those stupid nucleophilic attack etc. reactions

Awesome. Thanks heaps for the info. I'll check out Schaum's Outlines.

solutions books are generally priced the same as actual textbooks, students will pay that if they need it (you don't)

Zumdahl solutions are downloadable via the Chemistry LMS under the Additional Resources tab. You'll see it when you get access to it. So no point wasting money looking for it when you can get your hands on a free ebook !!

Was just about to say that.  But I can only say for Chem 1.

And best of luck mavisgibbons.  :)  Think of it this way: You've at least given your best shot at your first choice, now you know which direction you want to head.

Hey Russ, were you referring to "Schaum's Outline Of General, Organic and Biological Chemistry"?

Cheers.

I don't think you have access to the Learning Management System (LMS) yet.  You can try logging in here.  Just use your email login details.

If your subjects appear, then your set but I highly doubt it at this time.

That'd be right for everyone, except those doing summer subjects or continuing students who have last semester's subjects still present.

Just wait a bit.  Uni doesn't start until later this month.  Chillax and enjoy the last bit of holidays.  It's going to be a gruelling 8 weeks...

Yeah, the site says: "all 2011 Semester 1 LMS subjects (2011_SM1) will automatically be made available to students on Friday 18 February 2011".

You don't have access to the LMS until they update the subjects.  So like, you have to wait until the current text in the box on the left hand side of the portal telling you what subjects you're enrolled in turn into hyperlinks.  Then you can access whatever is on the LMS for that subject :)

It's a long shot, but is there any way we can access last year's lecture recordings?
