Monash law transfer

Hi everyone

I just wanted to ask people who have transferred into Monash law or know about it to tell me a bit about the marks needed.

I fully, totally understand that it changes every year, but I'm sure it fluctuates around a certain figure so if people could tell me what average they had in Monash or another university to transfer into a place at monash law school that is a CSP.

Really appriciated!

Anecdotally: 78+ average, but HD average preferred. Competition is very very fierce.

I don't think so - the application form doesn't ask for ATAR nor VCAA number or anything

Btw, they announced last year that they are severely limiting external transfers into law so you'll have far more luck internally transferring. Anecdotally, about 25% of the people I've met in first year monash law are internal transfers while I know 1 external transfer.

this is on the form 'Undergraduate students: attach certified copy of original transcripts of non-Monash results (ENTER, VCE or equivalent Year 12)'. So maybe it is considered

Actually, Monash have changed their process for Law transfers very recently. The 78% requirement no longer applies, it's just a straight Distinction average (70%+). That being said, I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable without a very high D or even an HD - it's one of the most competitive transfers in the entire university. But the fact that the requirement has gone down might suggest that they are upping the number of internal transfers they are giving out!

Hasn't it always been 70%? Has anything else changed?

Anecdotally: 78+ average, but HD average preferred. Competition is very very fierce.

i.e. I hear this based on people who've successfully transferred. They say 70% but it is so competitive you should aim for a HD average to be safe.
I can't see competition going down any time soon, especially with UoM no longer offering undergraduate law and the other universities in Victoria being not quite as competitive as Monash is.

i'm an external transfer and i got a 78 average last year. So far I've only met two external transfers - i think there are more internal transfers.

It'll depend on the faculty, for Aero eng -> Aero Eng/Sci I found out in the middle of December last year.

EDIT: I should have read up more first before posting, that was for an Internal Course Transfer, for an External Transfer you'd probably find out with the year 12's (don't quote me on that though).
