on a sad note: Accelerated Mathematics 1 , Failed , 2011 , Semester 1 , Parkville , On Campus , Semester 1 Mark: 34 Grade: Fail (N)

EDIT:  i hav a feeling i got 45-50 and they maybe moved it up to 50 just to be nice? is this possible?
Ouch,

Is the subject scaled?
It was scaled down about 15%. But they will never scale till you fail the subject so they awarded a 50% haha

Well technically, 1 point of an overall subject score is technically not 1%. It would be a few marks lost on an exam/prac/test.

Well that's what i tell myself anyway when sh** like that happens =(

PHYS20008 - Human Physiology , Passed , 2011 , Semester 1 , Parkville , On Campus , Semester 1 Mark: 74 Grade: Second Class Hons B (H2B)
:( (that's the second 74 I've gotten, not very good when you're relying on GPA for medicine)

BCMB20002 - Biochemistry and Molecular Biology , Passed , 2011 , Semester 1 , Parkville , On Campus , Semester 1 Mark: 83 Grade: First Class Honours (H1)
:)

Probably important for all the people getting marks for the first time: if you get a 79 (or 74 etc.) you might not have gotten that mark exactly. You might have actually ended up with a 77 and the department has scaled you to a 79 because it makes no difference to your grade, but makes students feel better.

Immunology department is picking up their game, microbiology just came out! How've you gone username?

Haha, I was desperately wandering through electronic stores in the mall I was in looking for free internet on their laptops. I felt so embarrassed because the lady was trying so hard to sell the laptop to me, and I had to bluntly indicate all I wanted to do was to check my grade.

H1 so far for Immuno, Micro and Techniques. How'd you go on Micro?

haha, gold. Yeah, I got H1s in all of them as well (obviously not techniques). Also, somehow managed to get an H1 for my breadth...looks like Global Health was a good choice after all! Looking forward to next semester a lot now :)

Russ, are GPA years (1,2,3) calculated using %s from all 8 subjects or GPA from all 8 subjects?

Reckon you have a shot at the Micro prize? $100 and a certificate! Was shocked to hear that the grade last year was so high (96 or something).

There is literally no way I will get the prize! I keep telling you I'm not that hard working, I rely on coasting!
I have a mate who I reckon might have a shot though, I have to check with him about how he went.

Totally agreed. 79 makes you regret more a little mistake here and there during the semester.
