Don't burn out during the summer holidays studying. Have some balance between work and social life.

Yea, i agree with that. Even if you manage to finish the course during the summer holidays, chances are you'll probably forget most of it and end up having to learn it again(like i did). Just relax. These coming holidays are probably the last one you'll be able to enjoy wihtout feeling guilty.

I would have done more study during the summer holidays - including reading/watching all my english texts at least twice.. and I suggest it would be a good idea to start gathering quotes as early as possible!

I probablly would have liked to have done more consistent study for english throughought the WHOLE year (that is, maybe a language analysis a week.. so that my skills kept progressively building up over a period of time.. instead of trying to fine tune them only before a sac or exam).

Also, I would have never ever done studio arts if I actually knew how much it scales down and how hard it is to get a good score - it's pretty much a pointless subject (for me anyway) and one that is rare to do well in.. you need to be really creative yet very, very good at english! If I could turn back time I would have chosen something more interesting (and one that you can actually study for).. possibly accounting or even physical education. So the point of this is... if at anytime during the start of the year you are not enjoying a subject, drop it as soon as you can and perhaps see if it is possible to transfer to a different subject and one that you would enjoy.

In hindsight, since I wasn't gonna get into med anyway, I would've dropped chem and bio and done Chinese and politics/philosophy instead ... but that doesn't really help unless you go into year 12 really knowing what you want. Which I clearly didn't :)

In hindsight I would have deleted MSN off my computer because that thing took up so much study time it's not funny.

In hindsight I would have studied for SACs earlier than at 2am the morning before the SAC. Actually I wish I'd studied full stop. Although I might be in med now if I did, which would not be good :P

Doing Psych last year and getting a bad score. Even though it was a year 12 subject in year 11, it nevertheless deflated my aspirations to try harder this year. :(

Consistent studying throughout the year is key.

Trying to cram for english 4 days before the exam really really sucks.

yes, this.

its too bad that year 12 coincides with the opportunity to do everything worth doing outside of school.

maybe if year 12 occurred when you were 17...

In hindsight, work harder and more consistently throughout the year!
Pick subjects you enjoy, not ones you think you should do...
Try not to let little things distract you.
Make sure you have fun! Year 12 was my MOST enjoyable year at high school, even though I went out significantly less. It is good to form new friendships, help others out and learn together!

I don't think I'd have changed anything, in hindsight. Though I think it would have been better for me to take it easy after year 12. Although I was lucky I didn't get burned out during the year, I certainly was afterward. A GAP year would have been a good idea, but I was so excited about going to uni and I'm glad I didn't take it now. I think it would have made a difference though.
