YES. Some words you just HAVE to use because they sound so good :P I kept on using random complex words at the start of the year, until my teacher commented to resist using fancy words unless I actually knew what they meant/how to use them.

I've stopped now, though. (About time, might be tragic if that happened in the exam.)

haha i do the same, im def playing it safe and using words i know for friday

I use sciency words sometimes, like catalyst, hybrid, exponentially, asymptotes, etc.

Being an Arts student: 'the Self' and 'the Other' is used heaps.
Further, furthermore, moreover, however, therefore, thus are all really useful.
