I have something to put here :D
1. Ahmad gave me something called "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" (with the quote marks... =/)
2. From our resident King of Links brendan, I found a link from a link from a link etc which led to a place with free books. :D and I saw pride and prejudice there and I figured 'thats famous, might as well start there.'

Which still doesn't fix my real life library visiting issues and it'll probably be harder to find stuff still in copyright but oh well. =)

Edit: and because they're on the computer, I can quickly ask the God, Google, to define: longwordhere, and He shall readily give me answers, and I won't be lazy and make an attempt to guess 100 new words from the context and hence miss out :P

Ever since about year 9 I began thinking novels were a waste of time... why read them when you could be reading about real stuff and learning instead. Meh, I dunno, my school still forces me to read them so they must have some value...

Just finished 'The gentle art of persuasion' by Chester Porter QC and now I am reading Alan Greenspan's memoir, 'The Age of Turbulence'

Greenspan says on page 251:

"My experience leads me to consider state-enforced property rights as the key growth-enhancing institution... As living requires physical property -food, clothing, homes - people need the legal protection to own and dispose of such property without the threat of arbitary confiscation by the state or mobs in the street."

Finished Catch-22 about a week ago. It's a brilliant book! I definitely recommend it to anybody who hasn't read it and likes satire.

I'm now starting The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck
