Sure its way cool and sleek, but it's just not practical enough! At least for me. Its kinda like a trendy toy for the wealthy people to check their emails in Starbucks, or something. The specs are just not good enough (especially considering the price!) to warrant most people getting it, i think. Come back in a few years when SSD doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I mean, a few hundred dollars more would get you a nice MBP :)

...which is what i want. But i'm scared they'll update them in a few months with the multi touch! Erghh!!

EDIT: A little bit too much sacrificing for thinness, i think.

its for the ultimate traveller who doesnt want to lug around heavy laptops. It's not a trendy toy for wealthy people u dumb shit, think about it: the amount of time and engineering costs they went through to design that.

Well considering that it's expensive ($2500/$4000+) and not too packed on features, you could say that its targeted at people who want to spend a lot of money, but who don't do a lot.

You can't deny the target audience is for the upper class/"wealthy" individuals, and as for bickering over the specific demographic its aimed at; really...who gives a shit. Go and call someone else a dumb shit.

I'm not denying that the size is practical! However with the costs associated, the way almost nothing is user replaceable, (including the battery), the hard drive is only 4200rpm, THE LACK OF DVD/CD DRIVE, the specs aren't great, its fairly fragile, and the ports are very limited, it wouldn't be too suitable for a person's sole computer.

Aw. Now look what you've made me done. You've made me criticize the coolest laptop i've seen all year! Yes its gorgeous, slim, cool, and i love it, but it's definitely not the laptop for me!

i love it. ive been saving money up for a laptop for god knows how long coz my laptop is from 2002 and is very slow and useless, and it would be useful for vce, uni considering the fact that i need portability etc. I can get an education discount and if my parents are happy to chip in a bit, i might be interested. i cant deny its overpriced, but its so cool and im so spellbound right now it hardly matters. someone convince me otherwise! if i was sensible, i would get a nice hp which is quite thin, for 1000 or so, which has a useless but cool fingerprint scanner.

It's slow, but thin.

People have different needs - and if you're the only one in market with a product that meets such needs, free market dictates that a higher price can be charged.

It's pretty cool though - but def. not for me. I don't mind carrying around a bit of extra weight.
