Hey everyone I'd like to get your opinion on whether or not i should resign as a moderator on this forum. I feel as though I've been made redundant, the other moderators seem to be doing fine without me. Your opinion/advice will be much appreciated ^_^
Thanks

This should be an internal issue, and there have been no internal problems with you. However, if you want to resign, you certainly can, no one is stopping you.

In addition to this, moderators are only supposed to maintain the rules of the board. There is no need for a moderator to do anything like promoting change and suggesting ideas. If there are no rules being broken, that is a good thing.

Yeah, seriously, every moderator is redundant atm because nobody really breaks the rules. :P Oh, coblin, as part of downsizing due to lack of needing mods... you're fired.

What happened, Odette?

If FSN hasn't already shown you that you're a valuable member of the community then you should probably go back over a few older threads.

TBH moderators don't need to do a great deal. I think your job would be the same if you were not a moderator. You offer advice and help out etc. So resigning as moderator won't actually change much.

I agree. In fact, it is not particularly the best idea to take global moderators for their merit in particular subjects. Global moderators should be chosen for their judgement. Local moderators are better for merit-based positions.

Mmm I think there should be more subject specific moderators and less global ones. I think Brendan is a good global moderator yet other applicants would be better for subject specific moderation (eg. Legal studies). Lol I never let it go.

I agree with that. I think it's a good idea to give an indication to newcomers that if you have a question on a particular subject, this is the person FSN endorses their answer because of previous success in the study and because they're a helpful person in the community. Although given that it's not an insanely huge community at the moment, it probably isn't a big worry right now.
