when i did the test, you only get one low-speed maneuver, either 90-degree park, parallel, point to point or three point turn. might have changed now with the new rules and shit though

I got 54%, absolutely hated the test (the scenario where you're approaching an orange light at 60km/h and you have a VP commodore driver do a quick U-turn in front of you from the direction opposite yours got me good). It doesn't simulate driving at all, you've only got the front view and since you're not sitting in an actual car, it doesn't really test your ability to percept hazards.
6 more weeks and I should have my Ps.

I got 80% for my hazards test, it really is a load of crap since u can spot the hazard but if u click too early, u get the question wrong. I honestly didnt know how I went at the end of it all. As for the driving test, as long as your careful and do everything 'by the book' you should be fine. The driving test will change, along with many other things after July 1 2008, so its best to get your licence before then if u can.

I know in my area, there's virtually no 45 degree parking - for parking, all you do is park in 1 of the 90 degree spaces when you get back to VicRoads. They generally only get you to do 1 more the low-speed manoeuvres (parallel park, 3-point turn, or point-to-point reverse), depending on conditions. Like, I know there are strict conditions on where they can ask you to parallel park (no driveway, 7 metres clearance behind, another car legally parallel-parked for you to park behind) and the driving test only goes for about 20 mins, so unless they run into a suitable spot, they're not gonna make you hunt for 1.

They only test 1. My friend was lucky and got the 45 degree park. I got the 3 point turn (which ended up being a 5 point turn).

I did the Hazard perception two weeks ago and got 77%. I was convinced I had failed because I honestly had no idea what I was doing.

I am going for my driving test on 20 February which I am fairly nervous about.

Good luck Nick, I'm sure u'll do fine ^_^

Have you had a couple of lessons with a professional instructor? If you haven't I'd recommend it, just so you can give yourself that bit of reassurance.

I jst checked my calender, I actually sit Ps on 26th March, so the day after you Sabrina ^_^

DW bout the walking everywhere, I do that already. I spose you could alwayz catch public transport, but I never bother. Power walking gets the blood moving!! (and it helps unhurt muscles sore from basketball >.<)

I have another driving lesson 2day, I learnt how to parallel park properly last lesson :)

Okay so here is my situation: I go for my P's this Wednesday *shudders* and I'm fine with most things except for three-point-turns.

I've been managing to do them in the standard three movements but then my instructor randomly goes to me, "you might end up doing it in five movements in the test". I've never done it in five, and she wasn't nice enough to tell me how it would be done in five movements lol. I don't see her again until the actual test and I was wondering how you do the three point turn in five movements?

My theory is this:
On the final (third) move to drive off, you think you won't make it around without hitting the curb.
You reverse back again and try again- but what way do you turn the wheel if you are reversing back to try again- do I turn the wheel left? Any help would be great.

It's like re-doing the last 2 turns. It's hard to explain without showing you. But yeah, each turn you change the direction in which you steer.

4th move - like the second (reverse left down)
5th move - like the third (move forward in first/drive whilst turning right)

In the fourth move, is it a full left lock?

I doubt it... unless u turned really badly first time. A 4th and 5th turn is only corrective, so it depends how badly you went wrong 1st couple of turns. If you'd like, I'll ask my instructor 2day how a 5-point 3-point turn would work.
