LOL i had that one aswell, but I failed 2/3 of it. I thought that i had failed but i still passed!!!
I thought I had failed, since we were only on the road for about 5 minutes and without a slow speed manoeuvre, I was expecting the worst.

I hope stores dont think "were selling something that a lot of people MUST buy within the next few weeks" and charge something ridiculous for them (e.g. $15)

That shouldn't happen. You don't need any certification or registration to sell a P plate on your stores, so there are strong competitive forces that would bring down the prices.

Also, demand may not necessarily be higher. It wouldn't make sense to believe there will be a surge of green P applicants. If anything, there will be a dip, because everyone is crowding to register before green Ps. The only reason why demand may be higher is because there is currently no "second-hand" market for the green P plates. I don't think that is a major contributor.

I think you misunderstood her question. Her point was: the restriction is that you can only hold 1 passenger aged 16-21. Does this restriction still hold if you get your green P's and you are in excess of 21? (i.e.: it sounds pretty ridiculous to block a 50 year old fresh driver from driving some young blokes around)

I got mine today :D. Didn't lose any marks :).

I lost quite a few, mainly for not using my rear vision mirror enough. I guess nerves got the better of me. But i passed, so im happy. I was also extremely lucky i got a 3 point turn, because im not very good at the other low speed manoeuvres

Our tests are ridiculously easy compared to others.

My cousins from Germany are currently over, and the eldest one was recalling her drive test that she recently passed. They have to do TWO tests, one day and one night, which is about an hour's length.

They also have to drive on the Autobahn (that crazy freeway with no speed limits).

I think we have it easy here..

Also,

I have red P plates now, will I need a green plates?

Yes. You will have to replace the red P plate with green ones from 1 July 2008.

:(

Or they could've made P1 = Green and P2 = Red so that existing P platers don't have to go out and buy NEW plates.

Agree. Its gonna be an inconvenience for all of us current P platers to buy the green plates.

That's nothing. At Turkey, you have the driving test + they test you on all the engine parts (i.e motor test), you've gotta know everything inside out.

Yes we (we = EVERY current P-plater) do, which is why i think demand for green p plates (the item, not the licence) will be quite high
