I got my license two weeks ago...just relax, keep a level head, and be on the look out for obvious things such as stop signs. Constantly check your mirrors, and always observe, apparently testers like to see that. Make sure you know all the controls like front and rear demisters, e.t.c. Also, if you are unsure about any instruction given, ask, they HAVE to repeat it. Apart from that its pretty straight forward! Good luck.  :)

I second looking around heaps. My big fault was not looking in the mirrors enough and not doing a head check when I moved into a turning lane.

And if you're not being tested in your own car make sure you 100% know where all the controls are. I had a minor panic attack when my instructor started telling me where everything was on the day of my test! Especially because some things were reversed in my car.

I only have my auto license too lol. And seriously if I could pass so can you. I'd only been learning to drive for about 5 months before I did my test. Only did about 80 hours too. Even though I thought I'd failed I passed first go.  :)

Just focus on the moment and don't get fixated on any little mistakes you make, otherwise you're likely to make more.
Goodluck.

Yeah, srsly, I thought I'd done something failworthy after about 3 mins, and after I finished, rated my chances of passing at about 20%, but, my teacher then gave my performance a vote of confidence, annnnnnnnnd I did pass :D

Me? I *imagined* I'd failed to do a vital headcheck, stalled once, and *almost* decided to proceed over a pedestrian crossing at a fatal moment. I got 90-95%; 85% [plus no serious errors] is the minimum pass mark.

wow you did really good considering you made those mistakes! 85% sounds reasonable. was your test the new 2 stage 30 minute one?

there's a new one? Nah, mine was 20 mins. I'd failed twice in England, where the test is 45 minutes and you have to do 3 manoeuvres. Heh, in England you also have to master the Emergency Stop, which is quite fun and I did it fine on the test, [however I made 2 serious faults each time]

I knew about the diff P plates and minimum practice hours, but this is the first i've heard about a new test. What does it entail??

Just remember to ALWAYS to headchecks when you change lanes. They make you do heaps of lane changes, and not checking is a critical error. I think the order your supposed to do it in is mirrors, signal, headcheck then move over.
Good luck :)
