I know some people that have already booked their houses for schoolies 09 :|
Do we really need to be that early?
Depends where you want to go. If you want to go to a really popular spot like the goldcoast then yes. Places like Torquay and Lorne you'd probably want to have booked by around mid-year.

im going to the gold coast. and i intend on getting absolutly wasted every chance i get. why not?

people who are complaining about the dangers - what dangers that dont exist any other time? go to king street on a saturday night. have a few drinks, and see how easy it is to avoid getting into trouble. pull ya head in, and theres not really gonna be any problems, especially in crowded areas.

other comments about the idea of 'getting wasted' simply being 'conformist' - people do it because, beleive it or not it is fun. maybe not to you, but to others it is. nothing to do with fitting in, its about having fun.

I didn't decide to go on schoolies because at school I had a lot of acquaintances, but not true friends and I am pretty sure I suffer from social anxiety. It didn't bother me though as I didn't have the money for it and being in that scene looks actually quite scary.

There probably isn't any difference in danger levels if you were in Melbourne or at a schoolies party. The city is pretty dangerous.
