Just wanting to clarify something in regard to subject selection. When you enter your subjects, do you get to choose which lecture and tutorial times you would prefer, or does it just randomly allocate your lecture/tutorial times without you specifying?

Hey Nick.
Im not sure if the timetables are out/confirmed for semester 1, but yeah, at first the lectures and tutes times are randomly allocated. There is a time period however where they let everyone choose their lecture times/tute times...thats usually around when uni starts.

lolz

I'm not touching my subjects until after my appointment. There's no way I still have to do six breadth subjects if I'm gonna do 8 units outside my faculty in a diploma.

Good for you, Ken. All I got in my Japanese session was the guy in front of me laughing every time that convenor guy mixed up his Ls and Rs.

Wow... Generating Wealth And Nations only runs second semester thats shit.

According to the guy who I had my appointment with today, he said each of Business, Tax and Corporate Law must all be taken in second semester. But in the handbook it says Business Law can be taken in first OR second semester... meaning I could shift it to sem1 and do Generating Wealth And Nations in sem2.

Was he just wrong?

^ Tell the guy about the handbook, otherwise just confirm with another course adviser if I was you.

Does anyone know when we can sort out our timetables? The Monash students seem to be way ahead of us xD

He's wrong. The lady I had said that tax and corp were semester 2 only, but principles of business law was either. When you add it in student portal, it wouldn't give you a drop down menu if it was semester 2 only.

Ken, I wasn't really paying attention at that point, but I heard sometime in feb. She was saying something about logging into Alloc8 at midnight or something.

"You may change your timetable online from Friday 20 February 2009." <-from that portal thing

edit: beaten, but just to confirm.

Just wanted to let everyone know who's doing Commerce....

I just got my subjects approved, and even though I deleted Transition to Commerce. They put it back up again. They may have done the same to you.

I just deleted it again. :)

Quick subject choices close tonight, you don't want to be stuck with this subject. :D
