I was worried that I was going to fail English. So what did I do? Dump 80% of my time into English. I think it worked :P
I was prepared to take a 45 at the beginning of last year and not look back. Trust me, it's not impossible to do well in English. Just put the effort in, keep hassling your teacher with essays and you'll be fine.

Then, you won't need to repeat Methods.

You've forgotten; this person only has three subjects, which means he/she has like 30% more time than the rest of us and 60% the normal workload. I'm sure they could devote at least a bit more time to English.

I want to do that, but I'm really worried that I can't get 99.9+ with that 38 in Methods. So I want to improve that score?

Look at my plan for you. Methods doesn't feature in your top four at all, so its influence is limited. As it'll go to around 46, it'll be a 4.6 increment, which is only 0.4 points lower than a max of 5.0.
Now, put more effort into your other three subjects and I'm sure you can make up for this.

38 goes to like 45 right?
how well do I have to do for the other three, English Spesh and Chem, would you be able to give me a range? or something? thanks

You'll want a 50 in English, mid to high 40s for spesh and then any score above 40 for chemistry; that would be fine. And perfectly achievable given you'd have just three subjects.

No need to improve Methods - repeating it will likely only harm you. If you knock it out of your Top 4, you're good for a high score. You really only need three good subjects + a solid score in English. You already have Chinese SL and Bio which can definitely go in your top 4. If you score well in English and one of spesh/chem (or both, to knock bio out of your top 4) you're set.

Basically just concentrate on acing those three subjects next year (or at the very least, English and one of the two).

You'll want a 50 in English, mid to high 40s for spesh and then any score above 40 for chemistry; that would be fine. And perfectly achievable given you'd have just three subjects.
With a 40 in spesh and 47 in English (keeping bio and Chinese in top 4) I'm getting 99.85. So you don't even need that high.

It's so inspiring to see such high goals, I wish you luck 2NE1! Looking at your scores from 2013 and your determination now, I wouldn't be surprised to see you with a 99.9+ by the end of this year. In my case, I'd be happy with anything over 90+ .. (92-93 for my course :P ). but yeah, goodluck :D

With a 40 in spesh and 47 in English (keeping bio and Chinese in top 4) I'm getting 99.85. So you don't even need that high.

Perhaps, but it can't hurt to aim a little high can it? This student wants 99.90+.

And given that last year's scores went out of whack with Methods scaling, if that happens again this year, it's possible your plan gets him just to 99.80, slightly lower than what he wants.

I would be a bit disappointed with 99.80, but I am going to try make Methods my bottom two, which won't affect the ATAR much if I smash English, Spesh and Chem. Hopefully I can get 99.9 just with this years results and my 38 in methods :/
