^ i'm doing the medentry course and yes definitely all the practice drills they give you (including 10 prac exams) is very helpful, if i did them all it will definitely improve my score. i won't be doing many until i actually do the course though as they walk through each of the sections and also give interview tips.
so i reckon it's a good investment to increase your chances of getting a good UMAT.

IMO it's similar to VCE exams, just doing exams provides minimal benefit. Analyse the mistakes you make and figure out to prevent them in the future.

And a warning about interview tips

^ oh yeah i would have figured that.

sorry, i meant not hints/tips to say to basic questions, but they tell you about different parts of the interview, and how to answer the parts like the 'detach' which is something i'm curious to actually have some 'hints' on.

I did UMAT last year, and i strongly recommend yous doing Medentry NOW!
i only got the course a few months before my mid year exams and didn't really focuss on it.
However, when sitting for the UMAT i trully regretted not taking Medentry seriously
As the questions were so similarly structured.
When can we apply for Medentry again? Can we do i t now? thnks!

wood u say the medentry course is worth it....and wat is lsat?

yer its worth it i guess... lol idk. im poor. dont think anything is worth it. but the stuff they give is good.

the only bad thing is its on computer. but i guess you can print screen the whole thing lol. and print it out.

lsat is some law admissions test . they conduct it at melbourne.
its similar to section one of Umat . it contains logical reasoning questions and some problem solving questions.

In my opinion, through the UMATs i've looked through, preparation courses don't really seem necessary. You cant really train yourself much for section 2, it just depends on your personality and temperament and such (and your english skills of course).

However, the main advantage of these courses i think is training for section 3. Section 3 is really something you can practice on and if you do it enough you can ace the entire section.

Its hard to say about prep courses.

I'm doing one, but really just for the sake of doing it so i dont feel at such a disadvantage.
I've talked to a few people who finished VCE this year and most have said that a prep course helped significantly with section 3 and helping them familirise with the layout of the exam.

However some i talked to believed that sections 1 and 2 were something that they could have done in year 9 or 10 and still would have probably achieved the same score regarrdless of amounts of preparation. One guy just described doing sections 1 and 2 to me as just you can either do it well or you can't, and he felt as though the skills required for that section, he had learnt in his early years through reading for pleasure etc. and he basically compared it to a the english sectoin of a year 9 aims test with a larger vocabulary utilized by the examiners.

I believe its not neccessary to do MedEntry, any other cheaper course still provides the same
depth and knowledge, simply in other words and sentence structures. All of these companies
copy eachother, however with different words - for copyright.

(And they also, give upto 15 trial exams, that correlate to the actual UMAT)

I know about 12, but really just go too any. (People say MEDENTRY MEDENTRY MEDENTRY, because
they never get the experience of the other companies. My point is, that they also provide same
materials, except at a cheaper price)

From 170 -290, you can find some that will give upto 8 Trial Exams..and everyhting else the same..

290-340 you can easily get companies that will give up till 15 trial exams, and everything else the same.
