mmm yeah .... oh well at least we got like two weeks reprieve from passing any new legislation... good whilst it lasted lol

in my opinion this arrangement with the greens-labor-"independents" will benefit the liberal party in the next election... whenever that will be

Hopefully not within the next year.

Not because of political instability and international laughing stock, but I have shaken on $100 with me old man. xD
It's not really an international laughing stock either, lots of governments around the world function just fine as a hung paliament-type thing. It's quite common in Europe, and now the UK also has a hung parliament.

Hung Parliaments are usually a product of the particular voting system, not necessarily the style of governments themselves. Systems which have proportional representation tend to have hung parliaments, whereas First-past-the-post, or Preferential Voting tend not to have hung parliaments

It's not like hung parliaments are uncommon in Australia, Mao. Steve Bracks started off life as a Premier in a minority government and he ended up being the longest serving Premier of Victoria.

I would say you should be prepared to write the $100 off as a loss.

Which what? I don't think I was understood correctly. My step dad put a hundred dollars on the government lasting less than a year. A political backstabbing + election + re-election within a year would become an international laughing stock, and it better not happen because I have money on the line here. :P

Oh right! I though it was you that put in that bet.

My bad.

You really do care about it? Heck, it's the Labor way of Politics to oust a sitting PM. Keating did the exact same thing to Hawke on the peak of his Political career. But then, you always have the liberal party, a party of trust and love for our democracy!
