BIOM30002 has been great so far but this B cell disease module has been an absolute disaster. Behind schedule, confusing the crap out of everyone, too much detail... =_= Someone please tell me this is the worst module. Pandemics and Dystrophies were absolutely amazing and I thought the mid-semester test was fine. I don't think I could cope if the rest of the subject is like B cell diseases though...

It only gives me one attempt, and I'm not trying to edit incorrect answers as it only tells you what's correct/incorrect after the submission deadline. I think they made this change only very recently as the first test gave outcome of the answer after every question as soon as you pressed the submit answer button.

Yeah, that doesn't sound right; might be worth it to contact someone about it. Don't stress about it too much though, each individual wiley mark is worth so little.

Auslan and Visual Communication is really decent if you're looking for a fairly irrelevant but pretty fun option. It's surprisingly social, it'll only take up a week of your break, and then you'll have two pieces of assessment due 4 weeks and 7 weeks after that, respectively. Pretty chill for an intensive, and you pick up some neat skills along the way.

This'll be it's third year of running, and based on general consensus last year from staff, they're getting consistently better since I think the first year was plagued by some issues with assessment being due at the end of that intensive week, plus a lot of uncertainty surrounding assessment expectations and such.

It's not perfect, and they're actually pretty strict markers considering the Education department are usually really easy to please :P But if you put the work in, you can get a low H1 pretty easily.

Yeah, he is. Pretty much after his first lecture this year Helen got flooded with emails asking for help, which has meant that he's had to slow down a bit and interrupt the schedule with explanatory tutorials. The schedule has completely gone out the window with a whole lecture being deleted and the final lecture being turned into a supposed "wrap-up". I wouldn't say the lectures have been going too well, it feels a bit choppy/changey and all over the place. I'm personally not a fan of his slides either, but that could be just me. Such a shame.

There's worse FML. =_= Why can't it be like the first two modules? T_T

Gosh the markers for BCMB20005 reports are RUTHLESS

So many marks to be lost for missing tiny details...but on the other side of the coin at least you get some marks and can pass for making a genuine effort lmao

That really, really, really surprises me. I really didn't enjoy immunology particularly until we had him. I thought he was excellent and I think most of the cohort agreed, although some certainly thought that his content was a bit much at times. His module is a good experience nonetheless because it's more grounded in the research and the science that supports what he's telling you than the others, which is cool.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a nightmare and the brain stuff is pretty yuck as well (although you'll be fine there of course!). Even this year when RA gets mentioned all the biomeds laugh nerviously hahah

The sum of all of your marks on all of your wiley tests combined is worth less than 10% (I can't remember precisely how much and I think it gets adjusted by tute participation). Given that there's a test every week (so each week's test is worth less than 1%) and each test contains heaps of questions, each question is worth very, very little lol.
