Hey, I'm doing BCOM first year second semester, and just thought I'd ask if anyone knows whether Introductory Macroeconomics, Introductory Financial Accounting, and Accounting Processes and Analysis follow the same lecture/tutorial structure as semester 1 subjects like microeconomics. i.e. Tutorials in Week 2 cover Lecture material from Week 1 and tutorials in Week 7 cover lecture material from week 6 etc.

For IFA, yes

Why are so many people looking for 'easy' subjects?
You should pick a breadth subject that you believe interests you. If it happens to coincide with a subject that is 'easy', then that's fine. But if you pick subjects for the sake of believing it is so, you may not get anything out of it, and it could bore you to the point you don't do well.

Also, if a subject appears to be easy it may be hard to score well in to differentiate yourself.

Spoiler
Finance 1: Very friendly first year subject, I joined in week 4 without much knowledge about the field, 2 days before the assignment was due as well. Computer decides it doesn't like me and I lose my work a few hours before it is due in to submit, redo lots of it etc. marks suffered I believe. Both assignments - almost guaranteed to lose marks for referencing despite following Unimelb website rules. Exam was where I recovered my mark because by then I had caught up and it is much more friendly. But Paul and Carsten are great lecturers, which helped me a lot in understanding and following the material. You'll be able to follow what they say on the Finance section of the news now lol to some degree. Three lectures a week I think.

I also did Intercultural Communication and Genetics Health and Society.

I reckon Intro Micro - it's super interesting and not that difficult. Everything is explained very clearly from the ground up, and plenty of very helpful resources are provided. The assignments are relatively intuitive, and the second one in particular allows for some pretty invigorating research and application.

The exam however can be an <insert expletive>. This might just be me but it's awfully worded and picks out the most obscure parts of the course and awards them unreasonably high marks.

Is it just me, or when I try to sign up for a subject on the student portal in my study plan..when I search for it, it says this subject cannot be found :/
Does anyone know how to get around this?

Are you using the subject code or the subject name? The former is more reliable, as little things like punctuation can invalidate an entire search.

Wait, I think I've figured out the problem.

I accidentally entered a level 2 subject breadth subject, which I did last year, in the level 1, 2, and 3 breadth subject section.
Now that it is full, I can't choose another level 1 subject, even though that section has a level 2 subject in it.
Do you know how I can fix this? (Move the level 2 subject to the level 2 section on the study plan?)

Easiest way is to go to the student centre

Was wondering if anyone knew someone doing a physiology major and can tell me a bit about it?

Everyone says all the 3rd year Physiology lecturers suck and I did Neurophysiology this year so TESTIFY.
But I love Physiology ): the lecturers just let it down I guess...
Science gets kinda misled due to Charles but Biomedders tend to realise the lecturers are gonna suck before third year.
Other people might disagree

Do you happen to know anyone doing honours in physiology and what kind of jobs you could be looking at after it? Like mainly teaching or?

Yes it is.

Ambitious non-Commerce students could do a lot worse than dedicate their entire breadth to Finance

Finance 1
Business Finance
Corporate Finance
Investments
Derivative Securities

Good shit :)
