Is it too early for high-school students to enrol in these lectures?
Yes - but registration should open relatively soon! Stay tuned to this Facebook page for details: https://www.facebook.com/MUHealthInitiative?
Should I put 'ATARnotes.com' for how I heard about recruitment for the position(s) or just 'the internet'?
The former.

I love it how i only have 2 days at uni per week. (really it would be one, but i feel guilty for not going in as much so i go on fridays anyway  :P)
Lol exactly the same situation as me. I was tempted to just go to the one day each week, but I want to keep feeling like I actually go to uni, lol.  :P

Guys with increasing subject load this semester I start to wonder whether there exist any breadth or relatively general subjects without any attendance hurdle requirement? I would really appreciate any recommendation.  :)

I haven't done these subjects but I know they don't have a tutorial component:
Music and Health: https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2014/MUSI20150 (offered this semester) - I don't think lecture attendance is hurdle requirement for this subject?

The only other one I know is Music Psychology (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2014/MUSI20149) but that was already offered in Sem 1. Perhaps you can take it next year :)

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm still pondering whether to change subjects before census date.

This worries me. If I were to change my subject and register to another subject just before the end of the month deadline, would I still be considered absent for any previous tutorials already done before my switch?

Changing subjects before census date shouldn't be a problem; I did that with one of my subjects in 1st year - though I changed a little later than I should have haha :) If you feel that the student centre isn't being too positive about you changing subjects, you can always contact the coordinator of the subject and ask them if they can somehow enrol you into the subject as well. This worked with one of my Education breadth subjects so I think it might work in other disciplines too!

If you were changing to a new subject (with potentially different attendance requirements) I don't think they'd look at your previous subject's attendance - so I don't think you need to worry about that :)

Is anyone here doing Biochemistry and Molecular Biology or the similar biomed equivalent this semester? (: I have a group facebook message with a lot of members for Principles of Human Structure and it's going really well, answering each other's questions and sharing notes. I'd love to start one for Biochem but most people I know took it in first semester.

Thumbs up to this, except replace the hot water bottle with my electric blanket  ;D I love it how i only have 2 days at uni per week. (really it would be one, but i feel guilty for not going in as much so i go on fridays anyway  :P)

One day too, it's wonderful 0:-D Which means on that one day I have to stock up on like 4 bags of egg sake bistro. I would murder my own grandmother for their chicken and tofu.

UROP applications are open now, and close on the 19th of August. If you're an undergraduate (second year or higher) interested in research, I'd strongly recommend applying.

There are a couple of us around here who did UROP - feel free to ask me any questions.
BSc (Hons) 2015 Melbourne

PhD 2016-??? Melbourne

I want to be an architect.
