What's the difference between "Summer" and "January" subjects?

What's the difference between "Summer" and "January" subjects?

'Summer' subjects run from Jan 6 to Feb 23 or something like that, while 'January' subjects have varied dates. Eg. one 'January' subject might be from 6 Jan to 17 Jan, while another one might be for 4 days at the end of Jan. There are also subjects in February.

Summer, January and February subjects are still considered as the 'same' thing though. You can only do a maximum of 2 Summer/January/February subjects, even if you find a tempting 4-day subject that doesn't clash with your other summer subjects. More than 2 would be considered overloading, and you wouldn't want to do this anyway.

Thanks! Might be stupid question but where can I check what dates exactly the subject runs?

It'll usually say in the Handbook. Otherwise you might have to check the timetable specifically (use link from on Handbook entry).

This is a list of SOME intensive subjects, with dates etc: http://arts.unimelb.edu.au/arts-student-centre/options/intensive-subjects

Should be fine since it doesn't say 'sequence'. But double check with the subject coordinator.

I was looking at the 2012 link to the handbook.

The 2014 link explicitly states BIOL10004 and BIOL10005 as pre-reqs.

Hey guys, is it possible to appeal an essay mark that's worth 50% of your subject grade? There aren't any comments on Turnitin and I'd kinda want to know why I got the mark I got, which was lower than what I was expecting (by quite a bit).

Hey I saw your post in the results thread. I also got a really low score for my body mind and medicine essay. Like WAY lower than what I expected. I just did a bit of research on appealing a result and it looks like a pretty complicated process. :(

I heard it is pretty abstract and conceptual. I.e. If you aren't that type of thinker, it is definitely going to be difficult.
