Source?
I reckon Full-fee undergrad / CSP undergrad split it a good idea in some cases. Uni gets more funding, which is desperately needs after the cuts made by the Govnt over the last couple of years, which can be used to better facilities and education.
I'll keep looking for the source I got that from, but here he touches on some things:
http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2007/s1898741.htmBetter alternative, the government foots the bill instead of piling money into middle-class welfare and tax cuts. Howard's years of slashing tax and raising middle-class welfare have been consistently described as petty electioneering and the most wasteful spending of any government in the OECD (source: The Mad Marathon, Mungo Macallum). The uni is already sneaky enough with its Melbourne model, it doesn't need to punish rural and povo students anymore.
So I've decided I want to actually commit to learning French, which is something I've wanted to do for a while. Has anyone that has done it suggest attending French 1 lectures or seminars or whatever? I'm thinking of buying some books myself and learning that way but some guidance for a language would be good.
Definitely go to tutes. I've learned a language by myself before, but had the huge bonus of constantly being around native speakers before I went off and learned it myself. The tutes are actually great too and it'll give you information you just can't learn from the textbook. Languages need to be used in all forms of communication, you're just not going to get that from a book.
