It seems they've only just started to include the reading time within the allocated time this semester. Before this semester, the specified time has always been the start of writing time right? Or am I mistaken? Also, it was a bit strange that an assessor walked right past me while I was writing and didn't even tell me to stop writing... So that's why I wasn't even aware that I was doing anything wrong.

I'm pretty sure the start time has always been the start of the reading time.  Well, I'm fairly certain I've always just showed up at the time stated on the Portal and I've always gotten my reading time in.  But it could just be that my memory is failing me.

When I was at UoM a few years ago, the advertised start was writing time, and you'd be let into the exam room ~15 minutes early or whatever for reading time. That was also back when you only had two exams per day, 3 hour exams at 9.30 and 2 hour exams in the afternoon. There are some old statute documents on the website with the same information but I'm not sure how old they are exactly.

Regardless, I can't see how DU has a problem if nobody told him so at the time. If the invigilators thought he wasn't allowed to write, they would have told him to stop (I've seen that happen once or twice, they just tell the offender to put his/her pen down). Knowingly letting him continue breaking the rules without telling him to stop would be crazy imo, I've never seen it happen.

I'm pretty sure the start time has always been the start of the reading time.

I distinctly remember having to get to REB earlier than the start/writing times listed for either last years exams or the year before for reading, which was why I was confused when everyone said the start time this year was the reading time.

On another note, I completely stuffed up a 10/11 mark question of my neuroscience exam today, hoping that my chances of a H1 aren't diminished :/

Yeah, I'm certain that reading time has always been 15 minutes before the specified exam time, hence my confusion. I'm stressing out so much right now and I've still got 3 exams to go.  :'(

For anyone who is doing ANAT30007 (Human Locomotor Systems), or has done it in the past:

On the practical exam, do we just have to label structures?

Or could we get asked what a structure does, for example?

Is this best way to study just labelling as many cadaver diagrams as I can find?

Don't stress! As kinslayer has mentioned:
I don't think you have anything to worry about! I'm pretty confident they would have recorded your name down if they were concerned.

Regardless, I can't see how DU has a problem if nobody told him so at the time. If the invigilators thought he wasn't allowed to write, they would have told him to stop (I've seen that happen once or twice, they just tell the offender to put his/her pen down). I think there was 80 questions, so I guess 80 marks :/

Don't worry Valjean, group work is a black hole for marks! And souls.

You'll kill it El2012, I believe in you~*~*♥~*~*♥

omg lol that was a fantastic simulation of what happens on campus if a person raises right-wing beliefs without necessarily endorsing them; that article is prophetic.

BIOLOGICAL PSYCHOLOGYYYY WENT SOOOOO WELLLLLLL I'm so happppy.

Now I can go be neurotic about Human Physiology~ I'm so annoyed at myself for letting that be the one subject I neglected throughout the semester.

I'm assuming that because you're not freaking out about Biochem (the exam is Monday), you're doing it second sem? T_T total regrets for not memorising the krebs cycle sooner

OMG! worst. day. ever.

I had both neurophys and principles of neuroscience exams today. So I started at 8.30 and finished at 5.30. But what is bad is that I only got my bag out of the damn container after the exam at 6.20... That was a freaking 50 mins standing and getting pushed around. What really is wrong with people? I know there are no signs but obviously the two ends of the container are opened so that people can enter from one side and leave from the other. But no.. people were so fucking impatient that they had to block the usual exit door so they can get their bags  >:(

I'm not doing biochem because the neuroscience major doesn't have firm prerequisites for it; I look forward to my complete ignorance of chemistry and microbiology biting me in the buns during honours. n_n

Awwwhhh :C
Yeah I have no idea what UoM is doing with those giant steel containers bahahaha. Classy. Stuff winds up missing from there quite often, and there are no designated entrances or exits. I WANT TO BE A TICKET LADY. I want to give everyone tickets in exchange for their bags, and their bags in exchange for their tickets. Best exam period ever, being the sparkly ticket lady.
