Just curious, is that also for Arts > Commerce? Or does that require higher/lower first year grades?

iirc entry requirements only really change if you're applying from a different university. You'll have to ask the bcom department for that though, they reply extremely quickly (<1 business day for me)

This is the actual quote

14: VCE
15-17: in a coma
18: BCom

can anyone help me out?

I just finished my first year of commerce (initially wanted to major in Finance and economics) and needed some help regarding majors and point allocation.
So i'm thinking about switching majors from economics to Accounting, i haven't done any accounting subjects except for PBL which is required in the syllabus. Does this mean i will be a semester behind as i'll have to take level 1 accounting subjects next semester, and therefore graduate a semester later than everyone else?

Generally, yes you would graduate a semester later. But because most of the accounting subjects are available in most semesters, there is a possibility that you can still graduate in 3 years. For example, you can do ARA during summer, giving you the prerequisites to do APA and IFA1 during 1st semester next year, so that you can do Cost Management and IFA2 in 2nd sem next year, bringing you up to date going into 3rd year. Speaking with the student centre or a course adviser can help you decide what options you have.

Hey guys, I apparently have failed a subject and the results were "version 2". Does this mean that there will be no ammendments from now till 4/12? I am really not convinced that I failed as I was feeling fairly confident about the paper.

Thanks.

I think Version 2 is more concerned with the subject code and not your result (at least, I've never seen it used in a grading context before.) Does your grade show up as NH or something similar like a 49?
If that's the case it is possible you didn't meet a hurdle or something, but generally you would know that in advance. Have you emailed your lecturer yet?

While it's possible for the result to still change before the 4th I wouldn't say it happens very often.

I have not, and he did mention during a lecture to not email him after exams till results are out.
It shows a 48, and the lecturer said that during the lecture that anyone with a 48/49 would be "pushed" to a 50.
I am so troubled by this now :(

As bad as this may sound, maybe those who got 50 were pushed from a 48/49?
But I'd definitley message the coordinator and ask about it and even try look at your exam and everything.

Has anybody done the subject ANCW20013 Egyptian and Near Eastern Mythology? I'm thinking about doing this as a breadth in semester 2 and was wondering what others thought about it in terms of how the essays are and how the take home exam is.

Thanks :)

Hey guys,
What exactly does the "statement of intent" entail and how much weighting do they put on it for graduate coursework degrees? I need to write on up but unfortunately don't have much to write about. Just wondering if this could make or break an application? Thanks.

Does anyone know if an average of 85% is enough for Dean's list (commerce)? And do they look at your total WAM or just your average for that particular 100 points? Thanks!

For the first years of 2014, the Commerce Dean's Honours List cut-off was around 86, but I'd expect the cut-off to rise for second years and third years as subjects become more specialised (and adhere to people's strengths more).

From the university's policy, for undergraduate courses:
Quote
4.1.    Inclusion on a dean’s honours list is on the basis of credit point weighted average in the relevant course and any associated concurrent diploma.
So it should be the WAM across the degree from the very beginning up until that 100/200/300 point mark, if you do the standard 8 subjects per year.

EDIT:
Not so sure any more.
It's a fresh start every year.
You find out around March.
For any future readers of this post, best to ask your student centre.

On the topic of the deans list - how does it work with summer subjects and doing different level subjects in a year? If for example you did 3 subs a sem in first year, then 2 that summer making 8, with the two summer ones being second year subjects would those 8 count towards the deans list for first year?
