Was one of the s3 questions messed up? I remembered there was 2 squares that had the same pattern (pretty sure they are right) and the only difference is the background. Now, the grid in the question is a 3x3 one and across rows the patterns are the same. However, neither of the options had the  same pattern in the row of which it was missing. IIRC, none of the options in fact had that background pattern. Anyone notice this?

Is this the one with the triangles? I remember thinking the same thing, but I just went with the option that connected the triangles best. Still, was a stupid question. :P

Yeah I went with the one that connected the triangles too :P

Not sure why the background would just be different for that particular square tho... FINGERS CROSSED (yn)

Yea but didn't 2 options connect them the same and only background different?

yeah two connected them with the different background, but the difference was the black triangle went over the spotted white one in one and under in another. Can't remember which was right but only one square connected the triangles properly. But yeah, the background was stupid...

I call total bullshit on Acer scrapping out questions and making them not count. Otherwise it would be harder to differentiate the best from the best. Yes, people can completely guess them and some people do but others take a more educated approach to guessing them. The Umat does not only testing critical thinking, understanding emotion etc.. One of the things tested is INTUITION. Derp derp

The test may contain a small number of trial questions which will not contribute to candidate scores.

That is so bull shit.  How can it be "fair" for candidates to waste time on questions that wont even count.

I bet they purposely put these "trial" questions at the front of the paper just to ensure you waste pointless time on them...

i agree, but i think the questions were the abacus one and the pearl one are the trial ones since not every1 got those questions which were in the middle of the paper... =( they shud put them down as bonus questions or something at the end and be like if u get all 4 correct you can get an extra 2 points or sumthing.. which gives the incentive to not only do the questions but at the same time does not hinder alot of ppl since they can choose not to do it also reduces the chances of guessin all 4 correct and people who do get all 4 correct most likely would have done it properly.
In addition the pearl question could be harder than the abacus one or the other way around and in turn means that not every1 had the same testing situation which could be considered unfair, however this is the UMAT afterall and nothing is fair in it lols =P.

I found the UMAT really good, loved section three, then probably section one, then section two was the worst. But in saying that none of the sections were bad. Had about five minutes left at the end of each section to quickly check over my answers. Hopefully my marks match how I felt I did :)

Damn. This sucks. UMAT sucks. But we have to assume ACER is perfect and knows what it is doing. Alternatively, we could assume ACER throws out all the UMAT tests when they come into the ACER office and uses a random number generator (i.e. a monkey typing on a keyboard) to generate our scores :P - after all, it is possible that the only function of UMAT is to reduce the number of people who have to be interviewed :P

Friends say Pittman is in a "good place" and has enrolled at university to be a midwife.
Perhaps she didn't end up enrolling :P

on the acer website it says all questions are worth an equal amount, its ridiculous because some had different questions which may have proved to be harder than others.

Then how do they produce the percentile graphs? S2 is the largest score, but it doesn't have the most Qs...
