For Q1 part a, was it correct to say
dV/dT= -t^2/5 => V(T)=-t^3/15+C
since V=6075 at t=0, constant is 6075. Solving V(t)=0 gives t=300 or something..?

+Yes, totally agree. Not enough time, and I wanted lunch by the end :P

lol crap i just made (t^2)/5 = 6075 and solved for t XD
yeah you solve t^3/15=6075 which is 45..

What is the maximum number of marks on both exams that I am allowed to lose to get a 40 raw in Methods?
considering this year's exams have been harder i would say about 12-13

tbh, thats a real tough question from VCAA

all the spech kids would get it cause its a simple differential equation.

but the rest of you are just a bit unlucky VCAA put in a question like that

At least you didn't need it for the rest of the question.

If anyone is interested. Itute's suggested solutions for MC are up.
The only problem is I can't remember what any of the questions were...

SAME LOL! I did that and one of the supervisors was staring at me...did he think I was going to cheat or something?!?
Then again that minute or so that I took to write down the answers I could've used to help solve the last question...

I think in terms of question difficulty, it wasn't ridiculous - as in, most questions should have been doable by most of the state.

HOWEVER, as an exam, I found it pretty damn hard. I mean, I'm sure that most people would have been able to ace it if there was no time limit, but doing such a long paper (that is pretty much filled with 2-3-4 mark questions and pretty much none of those easy 1-mark filler questions that VCAA was known for) within timed conditions has gotta be challenging for 99% of the state. Of course you'll still get your share of maths geniuses who are able to score full marks easily, but to the average HARDWORKING methods student, it would have been quite difficult to maintain composure and finish the exam without random mistakes.

I pity the batch of 2012. Methods is definitely getting harder, so I shudder to think what sort of ridiculous exam they would get next year :S
