Wow costargh..you're already writing notes for bus man next year?!! Did the school set this or is this your own private study?
Woah you're gonna gun bus man then.

This is school set stuff. Doing the questions, glossary, reading, taking notes.
But I know everyone will just do the reading and questions and most... and a few will do glossary too and a handful will do notes. I havent done BusMan before so I am really trying to nail it from the beginning.  I have a very good general knowledge of the business world (ie. what is happening around the world, nationally and locally) particularly because I read the Business section of the age everyday (lol don't laugh) and yeh I guess I'll have to get into the habit of adding that to my answers (what I know about the businesses). Some questions specifically ask for you to relate the question to a business I have found. Like Operating Environment factors relating to a business (I chose to do David Jones).

I'd appreciate if someone could show me a sample answer to a question so I get the jist of how you are supposed to answer a BusMan question as I am very sure it would be differnt to a Legal Studies Question.

You're school must be really really academic. You on our way for a 50 in bus man if you keep this up! I didn't do any bus man holiday homework at all lol. So lazy. Reading the Business section is an excellent idea, being able to give current business examples is an excellent skill that will enable you to be at the top. Good luck with next year :)

With business management try to keep it clear and simple... don't sugar coat your answers... get straight to the point =) make sure you define any business terminology... show off your knowledge but don't over do it =)
Examiners look for your ability to understand the concepts as well as apply them using an example of some sort...

Hope that makes sense lol

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm sure with the help of FSN busman section I will be able to get over 40 in busman! (Aiming 45+ for this one because I don't want it to scale down too much) =(

I aimed for 45+, but got a 42. I got 96% for Unit 3 SACs and 100% for Unit 4 SACs. I had the ultimate study/revision plan for exam preparation but it never came to light, as I was too tired and cocky (due to the SAC scores). Keep these things in mind, and put in a consistent effort regardless of your position for the whole course and you should realize your goal.

Having a part-time job, I believe, can also help you in understanding the concepts. I was able to grasp the policy development concept fairly quick because I was aware of the Uniform/Jewellery Policy at my workplace, how it was delivered, what it contained, etc.

Yeah having a job sure does help... what helped me the most were my parents with workplace relations  ... but they didnt appear on the exam that much... however it helped me understand it better ^_^ Oh it also helped me with operations management =) (especially my dad because he's involved in operations at the company he works at)

I think the fact that I have been working at Hungry Jacks for 2 years and 3 months, have completed a certificate II & III in Retail Operations will come in very handy. My legal, eco, and acc teacher (same teacher) suggested I pick up BM because of the completion of my certificate and the fact that I brought up my part time job occasionally in class when answering a question in other humanities subjects.

That certificate and your part-time job will definitely give you an advantage against those who don't work or have completed that certificate... ^_^

Oh and you have some of us who did bus.man this year to help you out :)

So you better get 45+ :P lol

LOL stop putting pressure on me Odette.

But I do place a certain degree of expectation upon myself. I want minimum 42 in Business but if I end up with 40 raw I wont have a hissy fit about it. But yeh. Aiming high for this one! :)

Does anyone have any Unit 3 SAC 1's or anything I can test myself on prior to doing the actual SAC 1? And what format did you guys do it in?

I really am still pretty stumped to how BM works
