alright that's good, we can have a more accurate prediction of what we will get if we know the aggregate tables.

Personally i think it will be really tough to do well at the top end this year.

I don't know if there's a specific date, but if you get the right URL it's simply acmatter of changing the year...but I can't seem to find a vtac link that has the year included in the URL...

If someone can find a link from a particular year just change ENTER to ATAR and then change the year...if the link doesn't exist it isn't up yet, but just keep refreshing every so often :)

yep, spesh +11, lang still +5 extra, last year of 5.5 aggregate, it's going to be tough

Even though I will very likely benefit from the current system, I will never be convinced that a (Spesh 50/English 40) student is better than a (Spesh 40/English 50) student

But they're not, the second one will receive a higher aggregate.

That's his point taiga. He means that 50 eng 40 spesh should get a higher aggregate.

You seem to have got my drift, even though, on second thoughts, my previous post was a bit confusing.
To clarify, based on last years stats, a 45 in spesh scales up to 50, whereas an English 50 stays at 50.

I happen to believe that a 45 in Spesh is mediocre compared to a 50 in English, and yet they are rewarded equally.

You need a serious brain to get 50 in English

and VTAC says "you need a serious brain to get a 45 in Spesh"...

which they class as = 50 in English.

I know what VTAC say, and the rules suit me.
But I respect an English 50 a hell of a lot more than a Spesh 45

That's his point taiga. He means that 50 eng 40 spesh should get a higher aggregate.
but it DOES get a higher aggregate. 50 eng ---> 50, 40 spesh ---> 47, 50+47 = 97 (+7 scaling)
50 spesh ---> 52, 40 eng ---> 39, 52+39=91 (+1 scaling)

Hence, 50eng40spesh is in fact better than 50spesh40eng. QED.

under the new scaling, that will likely change?????

I agree, it is a lot easier to get a 45 in spesh

Whether people will admit this or not, deep down everyone knows that a 50 in English is a much greater achievement than a 45 in Spesh.

45 Spesh is not exactly Premier League standard, is it ? . Middle of second division I reckon :)

The change will be bigger at 40 than at 50 if there is any difference at all (eg.40--->48/49, 50--->52/53), so overall, same conclusion.
