My top preference will hopefully be Commerce/Aerospace Engineering at Monash - fingers crossed that happens!

Exam durations are going to kill me  :'( Hope the temperatures don't sky rocket earlier next year. No way I can concentrate if it's above 28 I think (quite precise haha).

Do you guys have air/con in your exam rooms? Our hall where we do our big exams like English and Further doesn't. Come to think of it, neither do any of the other schools. That's what I get for going to an 80 year old school I guess.  :P

I thought I did really well in my unit 2 exam but I completely stuffed it up as well. But I think I can pick it up again. My SAC scores were okay though, had a few great ones and a few shockers.

OH kewl. :)
Yeh. So long in that room. haha. Hope so .. :)
My schools a 100 years old. So we dont have aircons, in the assembly hall. I remember talking to some girls who were near the heater during the Biol Unit 4 exam and they were dying because of the heat. For methods, i think they have exams in the new rooms, which is great! But the rest of the exams, are in the hall , unfortunately.

I loved accounting , my teacher was amazing ( he writes A+ notes for accounting) and i reallly enjoyed it. :) but yeh. i didnt want to do it with chem.
i think we only had a unit 2 exam , which i think i did alright in .

I am officially considering dropping out of it.
I was amazing at accounting, but did bad on my unit 2 exam, never got a mark like that in accounting before, and with the changing study design, loss of motivation and longer exam, I don't even know how i'm going to cope.

If you enjoy it , then do it.

I don't think we had air-cons in our hall (I didn't notice any heat though), though we had those giant heaters during the mid-years.

So, today I finished what I needed to do for a Cert II in robotics. Not sure how relevant this will be in the future, but I'm sure it's nice to have to put down in your qualifications. Heck, even the competency tasks were not relevant to robotics; I had to install Windows XP on a virtual machine, add a external hard disk and partition it, install Microsoft Access, and ping localhost. What has this got to do with robotics?  :o

Has anyone else here done a low level qualification?

though they do say, it's better to have them in year 11 rather than year 12.

So true, I'd hate to have them during a Unit 3/4 exam, I'd be depressed!

OH kewl. :)

The government probably cares about Macrob, lets be honest.  :P

My teacher was pretty cool, tough part is that there are people who don't care and makes my class unproductive so I most certainly have to seek help outside of class. More so than most others I guess.

I'm actually thinking of doing Business Management instead of Accounting. I did them both, but I find Bus man a lot more interesting, and if I were to do a major in Commerce, it would be along a BusMan path. Scaling scares me but everyone says forget about it.

Testing your proficiency with computer then haha.

I want to do those online ones. I have no idea how they work though. You know that Talent2 thing? Do they give ATAR increment like the Uni subjects?

•   Certificate IV in Business – business skills appropriate for all industries and our most popular course;
•   Certificate IV in Business Sales – a very strong focus on networking, building sales and relationship skills. The ability to sell is paramount to all industries and perfect for marketing students;
•   Certificate III in Financial Services – ideal for those studying accounting/finance or with an appetite to work in the finance industry.

If I were to do any, it would be the first one.

Yeah, free Cert courses are always great, the only reason not to go for it is of course workload, and those courses sound to be very rewarding and versatile. I don't think Talent2 would count towards your ATAR though (don't quote me on that), as it is actually a qualification unlike just doing random uni subjects. Everything has its ups and downs.

i guess so!   :) But MHS is like money heaven. So much funds. They have their own camp site somewhere in the country and the castle on the hill. But i guess , money should be divided equally around schools depending on students and teachers.
Yepoo. Good luck with accounting.

Yay! Uni subject next year! so excited! :)

I know what you mean, when your doing cert work, you might be thinking "what if I spent time studying VCE stuff instead".

I've looked over my friend who does the tasks at school from time to time and I have to say, some of it is laughable. But time is my major concern, and if it has no impact on my ATAR, then I don't think it's worth it at this stage. But it would have been great to do this year.

I'm doing a Certificate III in Hospitality right now! It is government funded, so free for me :)
They help you find a job afterwards as well

People who are saying the course has changed for accounting..

The only difference is that there is no midyear exam..

In all seriousness, Accounting isn't a 'hard' subject. It just takes practice to understand the concepts behind how to do well. From experience with my students this year, the more you try and understand the concepts behind accounting, and actually spend time to do the exercises, the higher the score you will end up with :)

That's the mistake I made, I did business management this year too, I liked the maths concept more that accounting offered, but I really loved business and dropped it due to scaling, just to realize i'm doing a subject with worse scaling (IT apps).  :'(

I envy your score.  :'(

Can't you change preferences now??

Our school allows us to change after we get our 3/4 from this year. Probably even let us at the start of next year as well.

Clearly it wasn't very hard for you  ;)
The thing was. I absolutely hated Accounting with a passion. I was going to drop it since I had 7 subjects.

But decided to knuckle down and give it a go. Finished unit 3 like 3 months before the exams (finished unit 4 in the term 3 holidays). Tried to do all the practice exams out there so that I would be exposed to a wide range of questions. And this was on top of my 4 other subjects.

So seriously guys, just give it your best shot. I'll always be around to help. Hopefully the AN Study Guide (which im currently writing) will expose some more harder questions so that the exam will be a piece of cake. :)

Plus having no midyear means that you can finish the course even earlier than me :P

Hehe, I'm still contemplating whether I want to do accounting or bus man. Thing is I enjoyed busman more than accounting so I think that in itself answers the question.
