No it is just a fixed group of lectures/practicals etc. That means if you pick one you are forced to pick the other session in the same stream.

Mine was mostly smooth sailing, but I did have a couple of problems/queries:
- For 'COMP10001 - Foundations of Computing', there are no times available for the Workshop (not full, just no times available to register for), it says: "No classes currently available. Please try again soon" What do?
- The lectures for 'PHYC10005 - Physics 1: Fundamentals' were not streamed, so does that mean it's fine that I pick 2 of the 9am ones and then swap to a 2:15 for the 3rd one?

After the last day to enrol online (15th of March), you can still enrol/withdraw from a subject, but you will need to get permission to do so; you can do this by requesting a form (you can get this from a Student Centre). The form requires a signature from the co-ordinator for the subject you want to change into. (Timetabling is done with the Student Centre).

From the MDHS Student Centre:

Quote
First year Bachelor of Biomedicine students, a quick update on class registration for Chemistry for Biomedicine. There is a known issue with this subject, and it should be fixed by later this week. Don't stress if you're not able to register right now, others aren't able to either.

If we weren't able to get a preferred timeslot for a certain tute because it already filled up, would it be wise to just check the timetabling page every morning to see if any places clear up for that spot? Or just check on it on feb 25 when the whole 'staggered release' thing comes into play? :)

Definitely every morning as people can change their minds at any time. I got my desired slot last year on a Thursday because one spot just happened to have opened up.

Isn't there the "Waiting List"? Not too sure how it works but I think you can somehow register yourself in a class where there are classes unavailable and if people "Change" or "Withdraw" for whatever reason, the next person on the list will get the slot?

That's essentially correct. People often shift tutes/timetables around for various reasons - February in first year is like a quest to construct the perfect timetable. If you don't get in via the waiting list, try again on Feb 25
