YESSSSS!

The end message is what made it for me. It's great how every year ends up with the same emotional message (albeit not in an awesome vid like this), love it.

You're not alone. Hence why I've dragged myself into school twice during SWOTVAC to do English papers under proper conditions. I simply can't do them at home.

I'm only in year 10 but it feels like my take-home English essays take twice as long to write as they should take compared with an equivalent amount of Maths/Science work  :-[

I won't be writing any more essays for English. I think all I need to do is just prepare for any sort of question.
Plus I'll be wearing a strap around my bloody wrist for the English exam, my wrist is sprained so badly.
If I use a faint pen to relieve some of the pressure will their scanners still pick up the writing?

I literally feel like I want to throw up every time I think of the English exam.. I just feel so horrendously underprepared and no matter how many essays I write I never seem to improve :'(
I guess on the bright side, once Wednesday is over, SO IS VCE ENGLISH FOREVEEEEER!

That's why I use BOTH my hands to write. Relieves stress so much it's not funny.

Why don't you buy those uniball pens (I use uniball eye micro)? They let out dark ink but you don't need to push hard so you won't have pressure on your wrists :) I'm thinking of using them because under pressure I write really fast and thus push down when using ballpoint pens, and that makes my hand cramp quicker and hurt a lot more as well.

That's why I use BOTH my hands to write. Relieves stress so much it's not funny.
I envy you so much for being able to do this  :P

simba I know how you're feeling. I'm stressed out as f---, I actually feel sick. About everything, but I guess English most of all. Can hardly concentrate on anything. I'm just wasting away my time and that makes it so much worse  :'(

i can seriously relate to this. i feel seriously under-prepared and ive only done about 4-5 complete english exam papers, and am stressing like crazy now because of it. BUT im trying to keep a positive attitude, cause doing bucket loads of practice doesnt ensure a stratospheric mark and little preparation (immediately before the exam anyways) doesnt mean <20 haha. English, with all its subjective glory, is a course in which a level headed and eloquent student who's done 0 study can rip a 50, based on the levels of their natural aptitude and effort from previous years.

An individual's foundations from middle school do wonders for an english ss, so dont stress (i know, easier said than done) and just write your best come the 30th! You may just surprise yourself on ATAR day :) If nothing else, enjoy the adrenaline rush of exams, cause its all part and parcel of being young :D

EDIT: some grammar bugs

I used to be the no.1 stress head with English, and all my friends and my English teacher knew it. That was in semester 1, and then I just changed my perspective on every SAC I did.   I used to panic and stress so much before english SACs that I actually felt sick and my hand would be shaking during the first few minutes that my pen was in my hand, so much so that you could easily tell because of my shaky handwriting in the first few lines haha. Then my teacher actually held me back one day to talk to me and tell me to stop stressing over nothing, because I was being way too stressed so I started to look at every english SAC and exam differently. Basically, I just told myself that it's not like I haven't written an essay before, and this VCAA exam will be exactly the same as doing any other essay you've done! It just depends on how you look at it, really :)

Guys, we've made it this far into the year and in a few days you won't even need to worry about English! Just stay positive and all will be good :) Don't tell yourself "OMGTHISISMYFIRSTVCAAEXAM", but instead be like "HAH, VCAA, YOU BETTER WATCH OUT. I'M COMIN FOR YA. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT." and just stay calm because you have written essays before several times during sacs and even on your own! I mean, even pushing that aside, we've all been studying english at school for years now so it's all going to be fine!  Just do some light revision if anything (going over quotes, reading past essays, etc.) over the next few days and you should be fine :) Then you'll never have to think about VCE English again! :D

And don't forget - quality over quantity! Don't get bogged down by the fact that other people have done tonnes of exams and practice essays while you've only done a few, because they could have got nothing out of it. Just focus on your weak points and make a conscious effort to ensure you don't do these things in your actual exam and you'll be fine :)

WE CAN DO THIS!!  ;D

My friend did this in an English SAC. The teacher noticed and she freaked out. lol
