I have a Brother HL-2142. Similar to this, but not the same: http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Printers/Laser-Printers-and-Multifunctions/Mono-Laser-Printers/BRHL2132

I get about 3500-4000 pages from 1 toner (Costs $75 per toner) on mine which is actually really good. Its also very reliable, had it for about 4 years and never had any major issues.  :)

I bought it from Officeworks, but I can't find mine on their website. Probably don't sell it anymore. =/

Alternatively, you can pick up one of these for about $10 on eBay. Could be a bit of a procrasti-novelty.

Got my printer for $0.06 off eBay. Works well. You can find late 2000s model printers for like $5 or even free. Oh and yes I'm proud I outbid the guy who had the $0.01 bid.

The thing is the printer can come cheap enough, what sets you back a lot is the ink or toner. HP ink cartridges for my printer are like $40 each and considering the junk prints at a rate of like half a page in a minute, I prefer to raid the school laser printers.

In fact I just print all my exams off at the school printers, makes me feel like a cheapskate but last year so why not?  ;D

The cost of printing at my school is expensive, and I've run out of credit. :P Plus, its easier to print at home, don't have to travel much to get stuff printed. HAHA!

I know quite a few people print at Officeworks because it is VERY cheap, and I love the paper that it prints on. Has anyone else printed stuff off at Officeworks? How smooth and soft is their paper! :P

omg IKR, it's a bit sad but god damn officeworks paper is the nicest feeling paper in the world HAHA. Their binding is pretty cool too (you get to pick colors), it's probably not necessary but for an extra dollar or so why not.

On the point of laser printers, best purchase I've made all year. I was out after school once and saw a brother HL2135 for 35 dollars or so, needless to say it was pretty weird sitting on a bus with a printer :P (and the speed and duty cycles of lasers are so much better than the old inkjet)

...yeah printing excites me :)

Wait crap...I remembered the wrong printing size
That's for A3
A4 is 5c as well

I'm really forgetful now. Got 4.5 hours of sleep this morning, did around 6 hours worth of exams today while trying to help a uni friend with physics (and she's really not that good)...I'm tired.

LOL I considered saying something similar to that about the paper, but I didn't want to sound creepy or anything. HAHA!

You bought a similar printer to me. :) I have a Brother HL-2142. :P Except I bought it for $100 when they were more expensive 4 years ago, but now they are so cheap. The toner costs more than the printer! LOL! I can only imagine sitting on a bus with a printer - Getting all those weird looks. HAHA! To be honest, I wouldn't care about it. Unlikely that you would see those people ever again. :P

ahaha, maybe you should be sleeping right now?  :P
I've forgotten that we could print A3, I think I've done it exactly once in year 7 when we had to make those useless posters. Never again, but of course, I don't have to print off an A3 cheat sheet...

You guys are pretty lucky. Each page costs like 10 cents at our school. :(

WOAH! At my school it's 1 cent per page! And the way that the machine works is not through the use of a library card but through a PIN system, which is flawed because you can pretty much punch in 4 random numbers and get someone else's PIN and print using their money. :P

LOL! We have like a system called "PaperCut", and its linked to our school login. Sometimes in the library, some people print on other people's accounts when that student goes to collect their printing (which is at the other side of the library). :P

I guess some people don't realise that there is a "Lock this computer" function. :P
