BAHAHAHAHAHA seems legit </3

Well technically if you didn't do a scaling subject, 6 raw 50s wouldn't net you a 99.95 :( the sad reality of VCE.
Let's not even get started on the Asian comparisons that parents make :P hahahaha

omg true story guys we once had a family friend who we hadn't seen in over a year, and she had a son my sister's age. literally when ATARs came out she went and called us and the FIRST thing she said to mum as soon as she picked up the phone was "what was your daughters ATAR? My son got 88.85 did she get higher?" And then when she found my sister's score was higher than her son's SHE NEVER CALLED AGAIN. The running joke in my family is that we'll hear from her again randomly next year when I get my score. unbelievable tho. so obsessed with comparing.

I am actually so bored already but I cannot find motivation to study.

Get your goals on!
Set high goals for each subject and have a mindset one of that, the only way to achieve those goals is through hard work and consistency. Make sure you understand that EVERY second, is carrying yourself to that goal you set and are working towards. Its like a brick wall, EVERY brick needs to be in place in order for the wall to stand. Think of studying like that, that every single question you answer, every minute you spend, are building blocks to your success at the end of the year. Also make sure you acknowledge the fact that even if you dont attain your required score, you tried your best and that is what matters because no one is capable of doing more than their best!

Trust me this works, I set my self a goal of 40+ SS for both methods and specialist and I am working like crazy! Today, with no exaggeration I spent over 6 hours doing specialist, getting ahead of my school. Even if I dont achieve my goals of 40+, I will still be really proud, because I was WILLING to work as hard for a 40!! :)

Hope I sparked even the tiniest bit of motivation :P  8)

^Motivation 101 by sir.jonse ;)

I guess in more of a nut-shell, have no regrets when you finish your VCE so put in the effort now to avoid feeling disappointed :)

What do you guys think about a "class of 2015" meet up? :)
I think we could all go to the AN Meet-up instead of having a "Class of 2015" meetup now (maybe next year have a separate meetup I suppose)

Thank you! :D

nothing against you in particular, but it seems very hard to even get me motivated :(
I'm even having 2 mindsets right now,
one of them being: "I want to get a good ATAR and good study scores"
but the other is "your ATAR doesn't even matter"

Maybe you just need a break?
I was already pumped at the end of the year because I had a vision of my goals. You probably need some time to process what you really want to do! Give it some time, everything will fall into place. :)

I can't seem to be 'proud' of myself about the amount of work I did for Methods 3/4, even though I know at some points during last year (Year 11 2014) I was spending an average of at least 3-5 hours on Methods each day (I was aiming for a 40+)
My mind randomly loops the thought "I bombed the Methods exam because of silly mistakes I could have easily avoided" in my head and for some reason I can't get past this thought and think and be proud of the amount of effort I put into that subject instead, if that made any sense
I need help guys

Wether you get a 40+ or not, you clearly put in the effort for 40+. Be proud! Not many people can actually spend 3-5 hours each day on one subject but you could and YOU DID! Who knows, you might just have scrapped in a 40, be positive! Even if your hard work does not pay for the exam, if/when you go to uni, your work will pay off there, because you already have a deep understanding of the content!

You gotta stay on the positive vibe, positivity brings success! Always remember we are all humans and are all equally capable of making mistakes, you shouldn't be mad at yourself for being human!

Also, if you spend 3-5 hours a day on methods and unwillingly made those 'silly mistakes', imagine every other person, considering not many people studied as hard as you did. I usually dont like to compare myself to other people, because we are all running our OWN race, but VCE is a competition and probably is the only thing you should compare yourself to others in. Anyways, if it will make you feel better, imagine what people who didnt study 3-5 hours a day did? Remember, at the end of the day your performance also somewhat depends on the state so head up, and stay positive!

Always here for anyone who needs moral help :)

Guys, can I just ask, how do you be consistent? Honestly, how do you avoid a burnout?

Last year, I studied about 4hrs each day during the holidays and totally burnt out in term 2 all the way up to my exams.

I don't want to make the same mistake, but with 4 heavy subjects, what would you guys recommend?

Btw, great advice sir.jonse! :)

I like to stay consistent by one day going all out on homework/study such as yesterday, i studied for hours! But today, all im doing is chilling and watching videos...

I guess the best way is to balance your hobbies/free time and study is by not dong it the same day. For example study for an hour and then play ps3 for an hours and the cycle goes on, I believe that is not an effective way of studying! But I mean, everyone is different, so experiment with yourself and try different things out and Im sure it will eventually be clear!
