Term 1 has been treating me rather well, matter-of-factly. I've got 2 SACs in around 2 weeks and another 2 a week after. Hopefully Term 2 is just as welcoming...

how are we all coping with year 12 so far? stressful? relaxing?

At the moment, English is pretty good- had the oral SAC and did fairly well, definitely not rank one, but maybe in top five (everyone got like A's and A+s though in this SAC). Chemistry I'm actually really enjoying especially cause I finally semi-understand titrations and back titrations :) My school is doing vectors at the moment, although I'm a tad worried because we still haven't finished it yet and apparently most school finish two areas of study in term one for spesh :/ although from what I've done in text book questions it's really interesting and much funner than the other maths (looking at you further and methods..)

Currently demotivated for methods, but that's probably because my last test (not sac thank god) was a NEAP and sat me at a solid 9/30 haha…

What about you guys?

I have my first SAC next Monday and I don't feel prepared at all. I'd say just start studying/doing practise questions now before it's too late or you'll have constant regret and guilt when your mark is not what you want. I just imagine how horrible I would feel then and that usually gives me enough motivation to study

What about you guys?
I've only had two SACs so far. I have a Chemistry SAC worth 50% of Unit 3 on Thursday where previously I just completed my Specialist and Biology SAC which went alright I'd say!

Off-topic
So I decided to take a couple of weeks off from logging onto AN and weirdly I found myself to be more occupied in terms of work which I found strange LOL

Is that the chem sac where you do a gravimetric and volumetric prac and have to write reports up on it? What was your Specialist SAC like-and where are you guys up to?

Yeah that's the one! It was actually just three titrations (Acid-Base, Back and Redox) and from there on it's just answering questions based on our practicals, general questions and MCQ like in VCAA exams.

Specialist SAC was a bit tough but not as tough as in previous years (average of 35-40%) covering Coordinate Geometry and Vectors. I won't talk about specific questions on here (there's people who haven't done the SAC yet) but most questions were doable.

Today we just moved onto "Non-standard" reciprocal functions and looking at the behaviour of reciprocal functions itself including:

Wow, so you have already covered all of coordinate geometry and vectors, and done a sac on it! We had two weeks of head start and we've only started vector resolutes :(

Also, what's your take on when you do a SAC before other classes- do you get pressured to give away questions? And what would you do then?

Don't you steal other people's SAC marks through how well you did on your exam?

Yeah it does scale quite a bit! There was one guy last year where for one part of our SAC 3 (out of three parts which comprised of 40% of the total SAC grade for Specialist) scored only 12% for that part but managed a 44 Raw score LOL.

Or their cohort must be shit.

Haha funnily enough, the students who did Uni Maths scored crazily high for most SACs (70-95%+) in comparison to people who didn't do Uni Maths so you could say that to an extent LOL
