Thanks eva !

Also could someone check my answer to this question

In Australia there is increased access to hospital beds per 10,000 population (38). As a result there is more room for hospitals to efficiently uptake more individuals to return them to a healthy state. There is also a lower prevalence of HIV in population aged 15-19 (0.1%) which suggest that there has been major strategies implemented to educate the risk of HIV and how it can be prevented. In contrast, Swaziland has limited access to hospital beds per 10,000 (21) which means there are more individuals being left untreated. There is also a higher rate of prevalence of HIV in population aged 15-49 (25.9%) suggesting that there isn't as many strategies implemented to educate the prevention of HIV. As a result Australia has a higher life expectancy (82) compared to Swaziland (49)

Yeah I tried to use the good sample response as a template but it sounds toooooo formulaic and boring..

Hey do we actually need to memorise NGOs? And their programs. Or just know a couple examples

I think that's a pretty spot on answer. I would have used the physician statistic, cause it's easier for me to explain, but I don't think it matters if you use all the stimulus material anyway. :)

No worries! hmm i would suggest you actually use the units from the data (e.g. 82 YEARS) i know it seems really obvious, but i remember andrew beaumont saying that you should use the units to sure your understanding of the data :)
Also maybe you could have directly linked how the lack of access to healthcare would influence difference in life expectancy, you kinda just compared the life expectancy but didn't specifically state how access to health care caused it!

I think knowing a few should be alright :o

I tried to be unique and use the data that wasn't on the assessors report :)

Okay for questions that says how does this promote SHD, how does the marking go agian?

one for sustainable, human development, health , one of them agian? In the 2013 exam they tend to be repetitive

I guess there no actually formula we use, as long as you talk about them.

waitt, for the health aspects in SHD we can talk about health status indicators right?

I have no clue. Do you think we'd lose marks if we interrelated them?
SHD (4 MARKS) just one cycle? (link each to h,hd,s)
^ i'm gonna try link the factor/program to each and ALSO interrelate
SHD (6 MARKS) i have no clue.. two cycles? :/ kinda risky though

And yep we can talk about health indicators! it counts to health

Can we use Shape Up Australia as a program for arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions? Because I'm think that excess fat puts more pressure on the joints which can lead to osteoarthritis.

I'd be very surprised if you lost marks for interrelating sustainable human development. You're still discussing SHD, so I don't know why you'd be penalised for having higher order thinking and inter relating them.

For this question
Outline one way that biomedical model of health addresses harm done from alcohol and or drug consumption.
I thought of some silly answer but would it still be right?

It leads to advances in technology which can be utilized to better develop alcohol and drug detector's, to help identify those at risk so they don't harm others or themselves.

I would've said they detox them in hospitals by flushing out their system of the drugs or alcohol. I'm not sure that even happens though

Hi V,
I think this is what evawu means by 'two cycles'

Often these questions will be linked to either stimulus material or you'll have to use one of the programs you studied.

I'll use the immunisation program I studied to show you what Eva means by two cycles.

'Using examples, explain how an immunisation program could lead to sustainable human development'

(About a 6 mark question)

It's really important you plan this question before you start writing to make sure that you inter-relate SHD otherwise it can get really messy and confusing for examiners.

Example 1:

"A program such as Child Days Plus which is aimed to boost immunisation rates and reduce child morbidity and mortality provides vaccinations for measles and hepatitis B in order to reduce risk of contracting these diseases and improving physical health [health]. Through being healthy, an individual is able to become trained by UNICEF (who administers the program) to deliver vaccinations to other members in the community, therefore improving their capabilities and participation in the community [human development]. These medical skills gained can be used to pursue meaningful employment in the health sector which can increase the gross national income (per capita) of a region, therefore ensuring economic sustainability [sustainability]"

Do you see how I used one example of implementation of the program to inter-relate? Now I'm going to use another one to finish my 6 mark answer.

Example 2:
Child Days Plus also provides maternal and neo-natal tetanus injections to reduce the risk of tetanus in children and improve physical health. [health] If a child is healthy they are then able to attend school and gain gain knowledge about the importance of vaccinations and achieve their full potential [HD]. With this newly acquired knowledge about the importance of vaccinations, children are able to pass it onto future generations, ensuring social sustainability.

Would it be okay to use two points for health, two points for hd, two points for sustainability on the same example (to get 6 marks) , or do you have to pull out a separate example and do another cycle?

You can do this. Just interrelate them
