Hi :)
I was wondering if anyone could help me with study for unit 4 outcome 2? I have a revision sheet and it says to explain the interrelationship between health, human development and sustainability using HIV/AIDS as an example in your response. I have no idea what to write for it, so can someone help me? Thank you :) :D :)

Hey! I'm also not sure how to answer those questions :( and what the difference is in answering questions about 'interrelationships' and questions that ask about 'sustainable human development'.
But I've been told by andrew beaumont and by teachers that you get
1- health
1- link
1- hd
1- link
1- sustainability
1- link back to health

but my two friends who got 50 in health last year said its 2 points for health, human development and sustainability
Does anyone know how to answer questions that ask about 'sustainable human development in a global context'? (8 marks)

Also- do we need to memorize the MDG targets? Because there's questions in my book that ask 'list one of the targets ...' but it's not on the study design :/
If asked about the purpose and we listed a target, would it be accepted?

I was just wondering, apparently it sways the assessors to like you haha  8)

When approaching questions that asks for the interrelationships, i'd listen to Mr Beuamont, its less work and it gets the mark, instead of listing 2 points for each health and human development and sustainability and more so because it discusses the interrelationships so its important that you link.
In regards to the SHD in a global context, you'd probably be given a context to read and use examples from the passage to support your answer. But I'd tackle it by using two examples through talking about the different types of sustainability of each example (2 marks) that is appropriate to the given information and how it can be used to influence human development (2 marks) (lead productive lives, expand choices, develop full potential etc). Then use info to support my answer (2 marks) and then state whether it makes improvements on health or if it doesn't (eg. decreases global mortality rates, increases the global rate of malaria). (2 marks)

I wouldn't remeber the MDG targets, just a general background of it like like the 3rd goal is to reduce child mortality so obviously it wants to reduce U5MR, not necessarily you have to state from 2005 to 200 idk lol ... and yes it would acceptable to use the targets as purpose, as they both are the aims of the goal.

I think that question is in regard to the programs that address key issues in developing countries which i suggest you must know, at least one for each (literacy, food security, hiv/aids etc)
These programs are specific and can be found in your book. Most of them are funded by DFAT which provides ODA- official development assistance which can be used in either humanitarian, bilateral or multi-lateral aid. (not necessarily NGO as they work aside from the fed governement)
So you'd talk about one of the programs, usually you explain the reason, type of aid and its actions. Also include the name and coutry

hope that helped !!

It's more discussing health status indicators. So life expectancy, mortality, morbidity etc on a global scale

You can go visit Iraq to observe how war and political instability impacts health + sustainable human development among people in developing countries ....

Nah jokes, I read your post before HM and I seriously don't know where you guys could go. For us, for fun, we just watched movies in 1 +2 (Like looking for Alibrandi) and observed how determinants can impact health. You can't really go on excursions for health.

I've been to Iraq surprisingly, well, not surprisingly since I'm from there.

Fair enough ! :). My parents are from a developing country too, I've been there once, when I was eight I think. Has definitely helped me understand HHD 3/4 so much better! :). You would probably feel the same way next year when you do 3/4 =].
Getting to experience what they are actually talking about in the textbooks, like the wars, poverty, lack of sanitation/water, child mortality is much better than reading/watching videos. It's probably been the biggest factor why I've absolutely loved this subject.

Anyway, hope you 1/2 prep is going well :).

You should link to a health indicator such as life expectancy of mortality rates or a particular condition such as rates of type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure.

Hey guys, just wondering how far back with vcaa should we go? The study design is pretty different already at 2009.

My teacher said 08 to 13.

It literally looks archaic pre 08 haha
