Is that something that has never happened?

Methods has never scaled that high before in the top end. 45 used to scale to around 48. My 42 last year scaled to 46.

Yes I am pretty sure Methods has never scaled above 50 before. This is unprecedented :o

i did methods this year.
the raw score i get will be scaled against this years cohort right?
As i dont get a scaled score in my results...

i'm a little disappointed. cause i got soo close to a 40. (Oh, well I knew I stuffed up the exams)
What would 39 be scaled to?

What would 39 be scaled to?

Im guessing scaled to around a 45-46 in a very conservative estimate. Maybe more considering a 40 scales to 47.

It really depends on how difficult next year's end of year exams are for methods and ALSO how well the methods cohort does on the 2 papers for next year.
That will determine the scaling.

41-->47.4ish something like that, I'd think

And, from my understanding at least, the reason why methods was scaled so much was purely because the examS (yep, both exam 1 and 2) were difficult and thus done poorly by the majority of the cohort. Don't expect such scaling next year! (unless VCAA decides to write ridiculously hard exams again)

So, as DJALogical has said, don't fret about a lower-than-expected score in methods this year. The scaling probs took care of that (e.g. 40-->47 whereas usually it's 40-->45).

Congratulations on all the great results, by the by! :)

Raw score, probably will scale to around 51.2.
You can probably look for someone in Year 12 who got a 48 raw to let you know the scaling.
