Take the GAT results as complete BS when it comes to picking careers. Do what you enjoy unreluctingly and laugh at how wrong that GAT is at predicting your abilities-because I am close to certain it is.

You're going to have be a bit more specific than that, what you asked is so broad one could write a PhD on it...if you want you can send a PM...

Written Communication - 40
Mathematics/Science/Technology - 30
Humanities/Arts/Social Sciences - 30

I put hardly any effort into the multiple choice this year because I wanted to focus on doing well in the written communications part, since that was the only part that would affect my English score. Last year I got a 50 for MST but only a 28 for the written communication.
2012 ATAR - 86.75
2013 ATAR - 88.50
2014: BSci (Statistics) at RMIT

so if the 'GAT' doesn't contribute to your ATAR score, why do it?

It is used to help make a DES if you need.  Helps break ties for premiers awards. Used to double check exam marking.

I doubt anyone likes the GAT and personally I think there are far better options than the GAT but the fact is 3/4 students are meant to sit it and for 3 hour of a year it can only help you so you might as well try your best.

can someone that gets a 90 star, also get a low GAT score, and is this okay if this happens?

On a serious note, I never got a letter with my GAT scores? How do I find them out?
My VCE 2014 Goal is to not end consciousness ... and a respectable ATAR.

Yeah don't worry, my GAT marks were way off my actual study scores, they did not correlate in the least. All I can say is thank God I didn't continue with math!
