What would you do once you completed a set of question/ pratice exam paper? I've been re-writing all the questions and corresponding answer to everything I got wrong, and ignoring everything I got right... Anyone else care to share how they deal with it??

It wouldn't be that bad doing the ones you know aswell, again, because practice makes perfect, and when u come to an exam ull be able to answer that question super fast because you've been over it many times, that's what I think works :))

And random question, haha how do I post a question myself   :-[ I can't seem to find the way :(

Can someone please help, thanks..
To what extent are we required to know about the inflammation response?
i answered
-damaged tissue cells and mast cells release histamine
-this increases permeability and diameter of blood, so increase blood flow to infected area
-allowing phagocytes ( is it just neutrohipls and macrophages?) to easily pass from bloodstream to infected tissues
-preliminary phagocytes release histamine to attract more
-macrophages and neutophils kill pathogens
-platelets move out of blood vessels to seal infected area

I'm also slightly confused about the humoral and cell-mediated immunity, need some clarification:
Humoral immunity:
-B cells can engulf pathogen and some of the pathogen is placed on the MHC 2 markers as antigens
- then secrete intenlunkin 1 to attract the specific Helper T Cell to activate it (do i need to mention about the CD4 receptors binding to the MHC complex)
-this causes proliferation of the B cells into plasma B cells and Memory B Cells (are Helper T cells also replicated here?)
Or
-Macrophage engulf pathogens and some of the pathogen is placed on the MHC 2 markers as antigens
- then secrete intenlunkin 1 to attract the specific Helper T Cell to activate it
-Is B and T cells both proliferated??
-T cells secrete intenlukin 2 activating B Cells, and other T Cells
-Plasma B Cells release antibodies
-These bind to Pathogen
-makes it easier for phagoctyes to engulf it

Cell mediated immunity:
-Same in humoral immunity with Macrophage engulfing it and ... then T Cells are replicated
-Some become memory T cells
-Others become Cytoxic T cell, Suppresor T Cells
-Cytoxic T Cells bind to virus- infected cells secreting proliferon into the membrane of cells causing it to die
-Suppresor T cells turn of the specific immune system to infection once it has ben destroyed

I cannot answer those questions with certainty and precision (brains and drugs are my thing). As for what to do after you do exams, i used to do this. I would do exams and note down the questions i got wrong, i would divide them into categories (plants, nervous system, experimental design) and make a tally. It looked a little like this - Plants: II, Nervous System: IIIIIII, Experimental Design: II.

I would use that as a guide to what i needed to learn. I would go back and learn this area in detail again, preferably from multiple sources. This worked because i wasn't the best student and i didn't learn everything by that point. It was more of a time saving measure given urgency to show what i most needed to learn. It will be useful for most students. If you are at the top and only make a few errors, it will not narrow things down as much unless you can work out a concept or area you just plain dont understand. If you're at this top level i guess just try practice as much as you can, answer peoples questions in other threads too for practice.

It really depends. There are heaps of ways that bacteria cause disease symptoms. Normally it's because they stimulate the immune system, and that's what actually causes the shit feelings. Other times it's because they secrete disease-causing toxins.

Hello everyone.
Just wanted some advice is neap or TSFX better for masterclass unit 3 and 4 Biology.
I was thinking about TSFX, but then they don't finish the course until around 10th october, so i was just wondering if NEAP is good or even better than TSFX.
These are NEAP teachers; any advice on them:
Mr Wadih Ogeil
• Ms Annette
Williams
• Mr Paul Manley
Thanks.

Don't need to spent a lot of money to do well. They do not have some secret or hidden knowledge you could not find in various textbooks or here on AN. If your parents are absolutely loaded or you're paying for it out of your own free will, then maybe, otherwise, as T-Rav says, not worth it. One or two revision lectures at the end of the year may be suitable but a long afterschool session of more school is not worth it.

Okay rhen. Thanks. It's just the mt parents think tuition is mandatory for success so I was wondering if NEAP or TsFX is better for it

Hello. I've been finishing this evolution stuff really hard to study. It seems like I've studied what in the textbook, but every past paper question I do, there always seems to be new stuff I didn't know. How did you go guys gorge or study this evolution part (unit 4 AOS2) for biology. Advice would be awesome thanks.

And also this question too (question 18), is the reason simply because basalt is to hot to contain fossils, but I thought that since it cooled down already it could contain fossil (ie D) but answer is C, and I think both C and D are possible. Could someone please explain why it's C thanks.
