I think what is creating the confusion is the following:

If you use the exact values provided on the exam paper e.g. 2.85, then 10^2.85 = 707.95 ~ 708.
But if you do it off the regression equation: -14.4 + 0.00854 * 2020 = 2.8508 and then 10^2.8508 = 709.25 ~ 709.
Since the answer is provided in the question, I think 708 is the better answer. Or am I wrong?

Good point, I can't remember the question well, then I guess both are technically right if you're using any of the values you are given?

the question specified both the lid and base, it said that in brackets

Yeah but I think you're thinking of part b because it said it there but in part a it asked you to find the surface area of the lid but didn't specify whether it wanted just the outside area of it or the outside AND the inside area. I though because they specified it in part b and didn't in part a that I would just find the outside area of the lid and not the inside. Seriously have no idea now though.....

Yeh I agree considering they give you the number that you should use that number. It's not methods where you have to use exact numbers...

Not exactly sure, but since the value of 2.85 is in the question, I think the examiners would want you to use it and so 708 might be the better answer in this case.

Nah nah you're totally right, that makes sense. I did 708 because I didn't even consider using a different value! Also because they give you the value of 2.85 IN the question you would have to use that value, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered giving it to you at all! :)

My answers:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7Kzcn-bvDvdQ0ZYNVN6SGhOZjA/view?usp=sharing

6c is wrong, 7b is 805.65, 4c might be wrong

With 11B, can anyone explain what the answer is. When you use the matrix and solve it, the cost is equal to 3.8. However, the total cost was 487 or something from memory, and 3.8 x 159 (total sandwiches sold) = $604.20. The answer could be found using $487/159 = roughly $3.07. Thoughts?

Hey so is it true that losing one mark in the further maths exam is essentially the same as losing a study score?

The matrices question was difficult to see through but it wasn't 30%, it was 25%. You had to calculate the amount of students that joined I from S and divide by the total amount of students in I in term 3.

I see my mistake :( I divided 60 by 200 instead of 240. I should've checked it. I'm so devastated haha

Since it was a two mark question (and I showed my working out, e.g. no. of I students in Term 3=240, no. of S students in Term 2=200, no. of I students that joined from F=60, then percentage=60/200(shouldve been 240, not 200), will I still be able to get a method mark?

I believe so, because further is relatively easy, it is very dramatic and one mark is about one study score around the 45-50 range

What did we think for the final geometry question with the path length, I got 153 by finding the length of the triangle and minusing from radius 50 to get 12 which when adding the 50 times 2 and (65-12) gave me 153m
