...I really wish double degrees were still available at Melb!

I think a lot of people wish that was still the case - especially the Arts students.

You can still technically do a double degree at UoM, though it is not officially one.
For example,
Study bachelor of Commerce. Pick up engineering breadth subjects. You could then emerge with a degree in Commerce, though you will have knowledge of engineering areas. Alternatively you could then move on to the masters of engineering.

This is the closest thing to doing a Commerce/Engineering degree. However if you do science at melbourne and move onto masters of engineering, you end up doing non science/engineering degress. Compare this to the monash science/eng degree in which all your subjects are science/engineering specific

Ahh right, true. Though you can't double major with Actuarial Studies at Melb *sigh*

Haha humph, I wanted to do that because I was thinking Commerce/Law since about year 9, but then took an interest in Actuarial, and then got ambitious and decided to incorporate both lol. I probably won't get to do this at Melb. It'd take too long and I'd burn out way before then.

You can do a seven year med/law double degree at Monash (edit: actually a triple degree lol). Not saying it would be harder but just pointing it out lol

this person doesn't need sleep they are a doctor in law (o_o).
statistics show that approx 91.1% of people who graduate from med/law don't require the ability to sleep anymore..

I was doing badly in English the entire year - I should have gracefully accepted this and moved on lol.
how is a 43 a bad score?

It's not a bad score - it just doesn't reflect the hours of preparation that I did, nor does it meet my personal goals. That's all.

Neither does my 39 in English.. In the weeks leading up to the exam I did an essay a day, and in the last week I did 2 essays a day. I was expecting 40-45, but did I get it? No. Was I annoyed? Yes. So I understand how you feel, but seriously, just let it go.
When I get sad, I stop being sad, and be AWESOME instead. True story.

In the week leading up until the exam I was doing a full practice exam a day under exam conditions. Up until the exam I was hoping to get an A on the exam, but after the exam I was certain I'd only get a B+ and so I got it. Would've been nice if I got higher but it's the best I could've done

I agree. It really sucks - I wonder what more preparation would be required to get 45? I did one essay a day or even two if I was motivated.

IMO the last few days or even the week leading up should be the most relaxing days, whilst the the period from a month to a week before the exam should be the most intense. The power of a fresh, blank mind isn't to be underestimated.
