I dislike Sharknet and Ransom as a whole.

Sharknet? Oh god... I don't think I ever even managed to read past Chapter One  ::)

Ahahaha, I've been reading books for the 2011 English cohort's sake lately - started Shark Net (it's actually pretty good in my opinion!), and getting into A Christmas Carol too.  Also will reread Antigone and also do The Reluctant Fundamentalist for the essay marking stuff. =)

But boy ohh boy...A Street Car Named Desire. That Play blew my mind away. That play was indeed, a very powerful one! I will enjoy writing essays for that later in the year :)
ZOMG I <3 Streetcar! Not on my 3/4 English setlist, but I studied it in 1/2 Lit - it's brilliant. Also got to study the Great Gatsby and Casablanca - whole lot of awesome going on.
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.

The ending of Great Gatsby so tragic, then I read Streetcar, and found they had some very similar comparisons. Some people argue that Great Gatsby is overrated and was good for "its time" but I just can't help it being such a compact book,  yet powerful. This is also reflected by Street car. Ahhh..I can see it... the plot, the suspense , the tragedy, hehehe xD
About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

Yeah ZOMG even though the settings are so contrasting, the stories are, at their hearts, uncannily similar.
