Nope - the 'Academic Offer Received' thing leaves you open to an accommodation offer according to the site. It's at the page with the explanation for what all the accomodation statuses mean.

Edit:

Academic Offer Made: Domestic Students only. UA acknowledge that you have received an academic offer for ANU and will make you an offer of accommodation when a room becomes available.
Academic Offer Accepted: UA acknowledge that you have accepted your academic offer for ANU and will make you an offer of accommodation when a room becomes available.

Congrats everyone! I'm really glad to see so many people coming to ANU. You will love it, really :) Even if you do spend the next 3-6 years complaining about Canberra :D

With accommodation: basically what happens is that you'll be considered for your first preference. If you don't get your first preference, you will go into a draw to be randomly allocated an accommodation place. This could end up being a hotel, but even if you get that it's a pretty sweet deal (free meals and a free bus pass) and you'll be tied to one of the residential halls which you can move into once a place opens and go to events with. In any case, I know waiting is excruciating, but as long as you applied on time, you will have a roof over your head and lots of activities to do.

Count me in!

PhB in science, and I've already gotten my accommodation offer :)
Congrats, where are you going to be staying?

I'll be starting my PhD at ANU next year, though I'll (finally) be living off campus.
Wow humph, congrats on getting into the PhD programme (not that it would have ever been in doubt anyway).

Someone please clarify what exactly a PhB is :)
Like could I do one in any subject? What does it entail/allow for?

Bachelor of Philosophy. No idea about the other questions.

Basically, think of it as a superenhanced Arts/Science course, where there's more room for you to accelerate your courses, and also more room for you to study things not normally on offer at the university.  It gives you a head start if you want to do research/academia, and presumably also puts you in good stead to be considered for post-graduate degrees around Australia (I hear one of the more recent classes had a lot of JD students coming out of it), and for overseas.

So lets say I'm interested in doing a phd in the future, would a PhB be a good starting stone? Can you even do PhB's in double degrees/with commerce or law?

Confus

For PhD, definitely.  You can't do PhBs in double degrees with things like Law, but from what I hear it's not unheard of to take up subjects from other faculties in them.  A friend of mine told them she wanted to do Economics and they seemed to approve (albeit she's not going anymore), and I'm considering the same thing now.

Yeah, if you are looking at doing a PhD, a PhB is well suited to you. Unfortunately you cannot do it as a double degree, although you can have an 'out-of-faculty major' (you just can't do honours in a subject that is out of the faculty). For instance, I know someone doing PhB arts who is also majoring in physics (I think). You can also pretty much do courses from any faculty you want as long as you meet the prerequisites and it's not law.

So, I heard it's legal to possess two marijuana plants. Is this true?

I think so. Certainly, you are legally allowed some amount (I don't know how much). But it's decriminalised rather than legalised (I'm not sure of the difference). I also know that if you are high and walking around the streets in some kind of daze the police can take you into custody until you sober up and such, just like with drunk people.

I think decriminalised means you can possess it and make your own, but you can't sell it like a dealer would.

Edit: It might be illegal to be caught buying it.

Can anyone answer my query from a page ago about my accommodation page being 'Academic Offer Made' despite me accepting the offer the night I got it?

I'm not sure why, but you should get an accommodation offer anyway. Maybe it takes some time to update on the system?

Yeah the status explanation says I should - my worry is that I didn't properly accept my offer. I went through the entire form and my dad has a screenshot of the 'you've successfully accepted' page so hopefully it is just a delay.

Mine is the same. To be fair, I didn't really submit it on time. I did the application after I received my results. I think decriminalised means that you don't wave it in front of the cops and they won't arrest you.
