Prevent 1 or 2 post accounts from posting links. Recently had a lot of spambots trying to sell viagra.

Don't give me this bullshit about VN being about equality, and therefore not restricting any access dependent on postcount. This is a safety issue.
I've been on a few forums where the minimum post count to post links is 5. I think it's a good idea and helps prevent spam.

I'll do it if I can but I don't think it is an inbuilt permissions thing

The closest I can think of is preventing topics being made by 1 posters. That said I do realize some people come here to post 1 post, and that is a "tutor wanted" ad, but with the new tutoring system coming into effect soonish that problem may be solved.

Wouldn't that restrict a brand new user from making their own topic? I know that my first post here was a new topic. It would have annoyed me a lot if I had to post elsewhere before being able to make a topic that addressed the question I wanted to ask.

Also: Forcing a new user to make a few posts would just result in crappy posts being made or people hijacking threads.

Hence my concern

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2404

There's this mod for SMF 2.0 that will block users under a certain postcount from posting links, might be worth exploring.

Edit: I think you can also do it by creating two groups (one for post counts under 1 and the other for over one) and then setting permissions accordingly. This method comes off to me as probably causing more problems than it's worth though.

Put the recent posts at the top of the page, instead of the top.

It makes so much sense.

He is suggesting to move the "10 most recent posts" from bottom to top. Which does make a lot of sense.

Yeah, it's a good point. I was just poking fun at the typo.
