Yup, I was always under the impression that unless the hurdle is a attendance hurdle (say, Jap 1 where you need to attend 80% of classes), the exam hurdles etc require a 50% minimum to pass the subject. If that is for a MST, then if you get 48 for instance, then you haven't attained the hurdle requirement.
Alright, cool! thanks.. better get to study then even though it is 5% :D

Hmmm I hate everything and my major is neuroscience?

Have you considered the MD?

I initially planned on a HSF major then MIIM major. I've dropped MIIM, and after doing some anatomy I don't think HSF is for me >_< I have no idea what I want to major in anymore hahahahahha

It's toooo difficult to choose. Bugger decisions.

List currently looks like this:

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ew, enzymes)
Bioengineering Systems (fuck maths)
Biotechnology (what even is that?)
Cell and Developmental Biology (doing this now, if I hear one more mentioned of cytoskeletal proteins I may just go over the edge)
Defense & Disease (even the coordinator for this major told me it was shit)
Genetics (sorry, I'm attracted to women not flies)
Health Informatics (there's a way to get a job!)
Human Structure and Function (I don't see dead people...ever)
Immunology (I'm immune to that)
Microbiology and Immunology (leave it to simpak)
Neuroscience (at least I'll understand my breakdown)
Pathology (no)
Pharmacology (hugs not drugs)
Physiology (is it really a major?)
2013-15: BBiomed (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), UniMelb
2016-20: MD, UniMelb
2019-20: MPH, UniMelb
2021-: GDipBiostat, USyd

Pass the hurdle requirement as in getting more than 50% in the mid sem quiz which is next week :o
Awh lame. Good luck!

Hahahaha omg. Hmmm, neuro and physiology sound like your best bets. I'm not just saying that as a neuroscience major and physiology minor :''''D Physiology is just biology, which you enjoy. It's in line with your postgrad aspirations and it's a fairly general field that keeps your options open, which is ideal if you're undecided. Many of those majors are just interpretations of physiology. And if your strength is memorization and rote learning, then the major doesn't seem that demanding.

If you think neuro is a possibility, you could try a psych class in second year. They don't have prerequisites as they're art subjects (classified as science credits, however) which are also taken as breadths. So you wouldn't be too disadvantaged for skipping MBB1 and MBB2.

If it helps, I'm currently doing this major and over the two Sem 1 subjects there's only a few lectures where cytoskeleton is mentioned, and even then it's usually skimmed over (it's mentioned in cell polarity and adhesion/movement, not much else), it's nothing like the biochem subjects in second year. But I'm also taking Principles of Neuroscience and it's super interesting, so I'm going to back Ballerina's suggestions :)

Hancock: Personal finance is the easiest subject I have done by far in BCom. But it was probably the most boring at the same time.
Business Finance isn't easy. I wouldn't say it's hard either. There's just a lot of theory to learn and a lot of content in the subject. You really need to know your stuff if you want to do well. But if you just want to pass it shouldn't be too difficult.

I am one of the lazy engineering students... It's difficult being one. I've tried to pull myself out of it but I just get dragged back in when it all becomes too much haha I find that if I attend most lectures and all tutorials and actually pay attention - particularly in tutorials/labs/pracs is enough for me to get by with brief knowledge of the topics... When it's time to do assessments I just smash out the tute questions repetitively until d-day. It's worked for me alright so far, there has been a couple of close calls but other than that I've managed to get above the 65% :D I find that when exam time comes around the adrenaline pump and fear of failing is enough to get me going!

I did psych in VCE, which I know isn't much but it's something. And I'm pretty sure that we do some neuroscience in our anatomy subject next semester.I'd much rather bum about in Arts at the moment (which wouldn't really work, but still)
The bloke who coordinates neuro was really nice to me at the majors expo, so that's a + hahah

not going to happen, I've carpooled with an honours student who complained that 24 hours didn't afford her enough time per day to work haha

Pfft she complained that she didn't have enough hours in the day and yet she bothered to burden herself with driving you to uni (NO OFFENCE BUT ATTENDING TO OTHERS TAKES TIME).

Do MIIM because it is awesome but I should stop convincing smart people to do it because then they'll be like ~the ultimate~ competition, I convinced my very smart friend to do Immuno and now I regret it because she is better than me ;--;
Good for medicine and the world in general, bad for my ego.
